This is going to be odd, since its in the Mod Section, but I'm actually asking if any of the Mods or Admins happen to be going to Otakon 2007 in Baltimore Maryland, as I'm attempting to set up a Nationstates Discussion Panel, and getting a Mod/Admin live on stage to answer questions would be awesome.

Basically we want to discuss Game Dynamics such as Roleplay in both Future Tech and Modern Tech, Possibilities with Nationstates II, maybe give out a prize or two via raffle, and generally have a big get-together of Nationstates.net players, Live Diplomacy if you want, I'd love to get ahold of Max Barry and see if he had a message or comment for us. (If one of the Admins can help me with this, I'd appreciate it)

I'm looking to have 5 people on stage, so far I've got myself, and one unconfirmed who I'll keep quiet about until he/she can confirm or deny. It'll be 2 Modern Tech Nations, 2 Future Tech Nations, and a Mod/Admin who can make it.

This isn't yet confirmed with the Otakon Corp. Staff yet because I've got to have all the information before I can send it in. But so far its popular with them.

Just because I might get swarmed by people asking, the following applies.

Age: Must be at least 18 by the time of the con. This applies to the Mods and Admins, as its simply a thing they look at when they're OKing these things.

Population: Must be over 2 Billion

Roleplay: Must have Roleplayed activly on the forums

I can't speak for the other mods and admins, but Maryland is half a country away from me, so I won't be there.

If we were talking about Anime Expo, then I could make it. But Otakon is on the opposite side of the continent from me, so I wouldn't be able to attend. Sorry!

I bet if there was something like this in Chi town you'd be there Hack. ;)

What I know about modern / future tech RP and/or NS2 could fill a small thimble without risk of overflow. That, plus the distance, plus the fact that I hate crowds, make it unlikely that I'd be a suitable guest.

If no mods can go, would anyone be interested?

i want to go to otacon so badly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!TO bad i live so far away.What musical performance are they having this year? They sell Doujin there right?

I thought it should be mentioned that this thing is still hopefully going to go on. I just need some other panelists, anyone who's interested, I believe you'll get into the con for free.

I was planning on going to Otakon with a group of people, but the group had to scrub their plans. I may or may not go on my own. I don't roleplay in NationStates.

I don't know if that helps.

Also, I don't recall game mechanics having anything to do with roleplay in NationStates, but I've been out of the loop for a while. Am I missing something?

When is the event?

I live in OH, so I'm not too terribly far away, and I make trips down south with fair regularity. The only conflict I could think of would be work (since I work Mon-Fri every week) and the possibility of my car breaking down on the way (since i have a '98 Saturn SL and a '95 Cavalier).
