Does the 24 hour rule apply if a Feeder wants to advertise itself on its own RMB?

Snap judgment: no. It's your region, and you're welcome to talk about how wonderful it is.

Longer judgment: hmmm, maybe. If it gets to the point that you're spamming your own board to drive off other people's adspam, then yeah, that's a problem. It's not so much the 24 hour rule as it is the common-sense-spamming rule.

The feeder adspam compromise was put in place because new nations should be allowed to be aware of their options, and non-feeder regions deserve to be able to reach them. If the outcome of your advertising is to drive off other ads and prevent other players from being able to play the recruitment game, that's a problem.

If I had to quantify it (and I really don't want to), I'd say that you shouldn't post a new ad while one of your region's ads is still visible in one of the ten RMB slots. The downside of this is that it's going to generate a ton of penny-ante spam reporting, and we've got tons of that already. We really don't want more.

This will require more thought, and more input from other mods. This is not a ruling, just free-association thinking. Let's let it stew for a bit before we call it a final answer.

I like that, that makes sense.

However, only 1 feeder ad on screen at a time does not mean only 1 native post, right?

I fear that there might be an issue with the lack of a line between a feeder advertising itself and feeder members talking.

Speaking totally as a feeder resident here...

Those in feeders know perfectly well when they're advertising vs. just talking.

Attaching little tags that advertise the region to every single RMB post is spamming the RMB, even if you're discussing the politics of your region or talking with newbies. Talking about the actual politics of the region with someone else that's present is one thing, presenting posts about how your feeder region is glorious and great would be spam even if 10 different members posted that similar message all at once.

:) Well, I'm glad to see this topic up since I telegramed the mod's about it. That was a fast reply also.
