Perhaps you don't recall the Paradise Beach club, or the Dutch language thread? We do allow for a few social threads; it cuts down on there being thousands of chatty/spammy threads in General.

I remember the PBC. Couldn't believe that one was allowed to run on as long as it did. The Dutch thread? Well, since I don't understand it -- what with not speaking Dutch and all -- I can't comment on its content.
Seems to me that spam is spam. If you're going to rap people for the occasional spammy post here and there, an entire thread of spam should certainly be out of bounds.
