My advice then is don't let your kids read it. We've had a LOT worse come up in discussions.

Doesn't matter. The NationStates forums are supposed to be PG-13. That thread seems kinda Rated R to most people.

No, NationStates thread titles are supposed to be PG-13 because they show up in the sidebar on the main NationStates site. The NationStates forums are not usually rated, per se, but merely have a few restrictions, such as no pornography. While quite risque, this thread does not cross the line, at least in this sense.

The forums are subject to restrictions.

The standard for both forums and game is the US movie rating "PG-13". Mild swearing may be tolerated, mild sexuality may be hinted, but explicit or excessive versions of either or both may result in proportional mod response.

Now, in the main, I think you're right in that most people are willing to overlook swearing and innuendo. This, however, is an entire thread about it. If you'll forgive the quote:

I didn't try to give a judgement on the threads legality in the OP. I get told off for doing that often enough. All I'm doing is presenting it to the Mods for them to make a decision.

Nationstates titles are supposed to be on the G side of PG. The thread itself is can be to be PG-13.

My advice then is ...... irrelevant.



This is Moderation. People post here looking for rulings, not random advice.

The thread started off in a reasonably acceptable way, mostly vague for the most part. Later in the thread it got a bit graphic by forum standards, but not so bad that we felt a need to shut it down.

It appears to have run its course now, and is being bumped periodically with various spammy silliness. As such, I've closed it.
