When you signed up you agreed to the Terms Of Service. You might not have read them(god knows most people don't, much like EULAs), but you agreed to abide by the rules they set out. You agreed that your account is up for deletion at the discretion of the moderators and admins for serious or repeated rule breaking.
Comparing the mods to violent dictators is not going to help.

I was complaining about a mod posting after a request for thread locking. How is 'stopping controversy' in any way linked to the Mod mandate? We've begged them MANY times, over many posters to reveal puppets etc...and the only time any such revealing is done is when someone gets DEATed along with said puppets. And I doubt we find out about most cases.

Remember, the NationStates forums are merely one small aspect of the entire Jolt forum system. We're freaking huge.

Now, consider what kind of moderation is necessary to keep a forum like this from falling into pure flaming Yahoo News message board style anarchy. The moderators here are specially chosen for their task. Each is impartial, able to make sound judgements time after time, and is fair. If you don't like what they decree, that's your problem.

The simple fact is the mods here do a hell of a job and we oftentimes do not give them the respect they deserve. This place is pretty damned open, really. I've seen actual dictatorial style moderators and administrators...it's not nice. These moderators are so far away from that it's absolutely amazing. You should be thanking them for the job they do given the circumstances and the stresses of the iob.

They're volunteers who put in time to try and help keep the forums clean and assist with problems when they arise. Whether it's posting after a lock or in placing a lock, it's their perogative, and is generally used for clarification. You don't have to like it. You do, like the rest of us, get to deal with it if you choose to participate here. It's not like it's something that's been historically abused.

In the meantime, you've added ... nothing of content in your constant whining and assorted drivel. And in addition, you've hypocritically illustrated your own woeful lack of spelling and grammar ability when calling out others for the same, trying to act all 'smug' and superior. I missed where (In either thread) where the mod leaves with the last word. In the case I missed something, yes mods do HAVE the last word on everything. They are, after all in charge!
