He's basically applauding imprisonment/torture/in some cases death of Christians. Typical of him.

Perhaps you should have read the whole thread before you reported my (obviously) sarcastic comment? Specifically the comment where I wrote: "For reals, though, what they're doing is wrong." (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=12427429&postcount=53)

While I very much doubt that my original comment would have been actionable even if I had meant it to be anything other than sarcastic - the fact that I unequivocally later state (on 14-03-2007, at 21:39 - that is four days before you attempted here to pull that comment out of its context) that what is being done by the government is wrong renders your accusation that I would "applaud" torture and persecution and death quite baseless. And that's all I have to say on the matter.

Fassigen's initial statement in post #2 was an expression of a political opinion that flamed nobody on this board. You may disagree with his opinion, but that doesn't make it flamebait.

Your response to him in post #79 was directed flaming at an individual poster on these boards. It could in no way be mistaken for political debate. If anyone is due a warning, it's you, Congo--Kinshasa.

We're not here to keep you from being offended or to promote a certain viewpoint at the expense of all others. Either learn how to debate properly or don't post.

But, since that statement was actually not fass' political belief as he has admitted, the only reason for making that statement would be to piss people off if not to actually express ones beliefs. That is flamebait is it not?

No, that would not be the only reason. The other one, and in this case most obvious reason to anyone who knows of my vehement opposition to torture and persecution and above all government sanctioned killing/death penalty (and, yes, Congo--Kinshasa is very much aware of it, seeing as he tends to if not at times follow me from thread to thread, then at least show up in threads where I post conspicuously often), is to mock the pinnings of such a statement. It is a common rhetorical device, often used in these fora - used before I frequented them, and probably well after I no longer do so.

Why he'd choose to deliberately misconstrue this and twist it into something it is not, something actionable, should be made apparent by the number of invectives he has tried to hurl at me in the past (and as has already been pointed out, in the very thread he chose to report). He has a beef. A beef that I henceforth thanks to Jolt's ignore function no longer need to notice. Hopefully, he shall follow suit.
