I do think DCD was flamebaiting with his "What did you expect from a bunch of savages?" comment though.

I find that sort of thing extremely offensive. Most people would too, except it's currently OK to call Arabs "savages." It's like if something happened in Israel, and I said "What do you expect from a bunch of moneygrubbers?"

Considering the thread in question is about a girl being whipped because she was raped, I wouldn't consider his characterization far from accurate, nor do I think his comment was intended to be exclusive to Arabs or Saudis (in other words, I suspect he would call anyone who punished a rape victim a savage)
Of course, I'm not him, nor am I a mod.
