Saying people who play American football are idiots, or wimps, flames those of us who do and yet it's muttered daily in General.
That being said I'm hardly offended by it. There are many people out there who feel that exact way about mental illness: that is it made up or for the weak-minded. That post didn't sound like a intentional flame, it sounded like a point of view. Not quite an educated point of view, but a valid one nonetheless.
I think you're suggesting a slippery slope here. For NationStates to get so PC that any statement against something is flagged as a flame would be sad to see.
People who claim American football is for meatheads (our starting center went to Harvard), or wimps in comparison to soccer (umm...soccer players get carried off on stretchers screaming like babies cause they got tripped and then are running full sprint a few minutes later), is rather ridiculous. But if it's a flame every time someone said it, I have a feeling that the amount of warnings mods would give out would warrant three times the mod squad we have now. It would all become ridiculous, really. Same goes for your "topic."
