Nothing flamy yet, but someone might want to keep a fire watch eye on this one:

People are possibly suggesting a woman deserved a possible sexual assault and her possible assailant a medal. It'd be reasonable to expect some fiery replies as well....

I'm pretty sure that everyone's being sarcastic.

Even so, it's worth keeping an eye on. Note I didn't say anyony was doing anything bwrong, just that there was potential for misunderstanding and the modsquad might want to put an eye on... ;)

I bet you go out of your way to sand down the dangerously-sharp edges of children's wooden building-blocks.

On behalf of humanity, thanks for warning the people you're trying to suck up to. Btw, I've admin in 3 or 4 forums, and can guarantee you that attitude would generally bar you from consideration for admin of any level for life. Have a nice evening and thanks again.

somehow, I don't think it's proper to attack a person who reports things to mods here or in the thread (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=12313385&postcount=11).

If you disagree with the viewpoint, argue against the viewpoint (like DCD did), but don't make personal attacks against the one doing the reporting.

the final decision is with the mods. report the percieved offense, support/refute the offence, but don't attack the person doing the reporting.

Look up, look waaaay up to the first post in this thread. There was no perceived offense, just baseless anticipation due to an inability to comprehend humour on the part of the reporter.

and I've seen such things reported by others for other threads. yet the response is to explain their tone, not attack the one doing the reporting.

the point I'm trying to say is that if it's being sarcastic, say it's sarcasm but don't attack the person reporting it in. calling them "wanna-be hall monitors" and other things can be considered Flaming and trolling. so in effect, giving the mods more reasons to shut a thread down.

yes, I know it's more of a Heads Up, but as I said, I've seen those reported here as well.

Is there a reason for all this sniping? The thread seems ok at the moment.

Not that I can tell, beyond I got attacked for this, and the attacker misrepresented what I posted. I never said it was flamebait, just that some of the replies were worth watching. And someone, who's now on ignore, decided to lie about that and say I was telling people that it was full of flames.

As JuNii pointed out, asking the mods to keep an eye on something that could get out of hand has more or less been expected and not something I expected to get flamed and lied about for.

You got flamed?

You mean somebody called you a cur, a damned liar, and a lying cur?

Oh... wait.

Why am I reminded of the story of the man who killed his parents and then begged the court for mercy on the grounds that he was an orphan?

I would suggest we drop it. the mods made their ruling and making such comments about the poster in the mod thread isn't really a safe thing to do.

Read the thread.

I don't know, but it isn't relevant here.

And as per JuNii's suggestion I'm signing off for the night to allow the mods to do their job.
Fare thee well, all.

Whatever comes of the thread, I think it's weird that "vagina" and "penis" are removed from thread titles, but "skeet" ("to ejaculate [on someone's person]") is left untouched.

It's like Dave Chapelle said: "You know what's so dope about 'skeet'? It's that white people don't know what it means yet... When they figure it out, they're going to be like, 'My God, what have we done?!'".

The continued attacks and sarcasm towards each other ends now. We'll keep a watch over the thread as it continues on; however, there's nothing wrong with it currently. Those of you who decided to come into this thread to insult the original poster for simply asking us to keep an eye on the thread should be ashamed of themselves, attacking someone, out of all place, in the moderation forum. Next time something happens like this, warnings will be issued. Thread locked.
