I have an OOC Thread for an upcoming RP in nationstates. The Most Glorious Hack posted that it most pertain to nationstates. I do not understand exactly what this means, as several other RP's in nationstates have notihng to do with it. I would just like some explanation/clarification. Here is a link to the thread. Thanks.

It means it needs to relate to your NS nation, not a smattering of historical or fantastical stuff you'd like to see in a story.
Other people have done this sort of thing, created new nations to work around them - that's fine and well. As in creating an NS nation with that background to rp from.
Still others have wanted to do a theme and let folks rp in it as set character types or concepts, and have created offsite boards to rp them out on.
Lots of folks have chosen to stick to character rp that doesn't involve national leaders or governments or war and the the like, just various people within a nation - the one the player created. No problems with those either that I've seen.
This isn't a new concept, and ought to be fairly self-explanitory. RP's on the forums ought to have something to do with the nation you created, not just be a 'fun idea' you've come up with that doesn't have anything to do with the nations represented in it. The fact that some slip through the cracks, given the fact the moderators cannot possibly be expected to read each and every post on the boards, is neither here nor there.
I'm sure the moderators will correct me if I've inadvertently spoken out of turn or made a mistake in there.

I tend to agree with what Nathi's said. My advice to you, Breitenburg, is not to make a "smattering of fantastical stuff" as Nathi put it, and instead somehow incorporate this mythology into the actual mythology of the nation of Breitenburg. It's quite easy to RP by the rules, and if the mods think your upcoming adventure is questionable, I'd say a few tweaks here and there would make it fine.

I see... my nation doesn't have a mythology. Do the same rules apply for International Incidents? Is there anyway I can do this RP without making it into something for my nation and RP it like the other RPs?

Yes.

Not here. We have a common sense rule that roleplays on the NationStates forum should be based on NationStates.
What you would need to do for the particular RP you're trying to have is either create a mythology for your nation (which is really not that hard) or go to an off-site forum where it's allowed.

I don'tunderstand... this sin't my first RP, and plenty of others do RP's in real world locations, but they don't get warned. Why is my RP any different?

Your RP isn't really different from any of the other RPs that break the rules.
What is different is that a Mod saw this one. That's why yours got "warned". We can't see everything on this forum because we're not online browsing every forum all day reading every thread that gets created. We see what we stumble upon and what people report.
If you want the rule enforced more consistently, please help us out by reporting to us other RPs that have nothing to do with NS. We'll take care of them as well.

Hmm.... alright. I'll try to make it relevant. But I refuse to be a rat.
