Childish n00bs indeed.

Please take a look at this post here (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=12246295&postcount=963). The level of crudity offends, and is unsuitable to a quotes thread. Doubly so when coming from someone who holds others to higher levels of performance than themselves.

As the poster stated elsewhere, "Lets not let this crap become acceptable by not doing anything about it..." (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=515416)

...

I sat here for a bit, truly unable to think of a response. Want it deleted? I'll be happy to. Want to slap me down somehow for something without profanity and obviously in jest? Go for it.

I've run out of things to say anymore. I'll delete the post and quote it myself here...but I know mods can look it over and decide for themselves. I'm tired of being followed. Tired of it all.

I think, the most childish people are the people, who still think that it's cool to write something like "n00bs"...

because writing that wasn't a joke in itself...

Already taken care of it seems...

I suppose it was my bad...an error in judgement perhaps...

Really, SB, it's nothing to get worked up over. You tipped just over the line, the post got axed. No harm, no foul and all that, I'm not even giving you so much as an unofficial warning over it- I assume you'll take the lesson and know better than to post something like that again.

Man, Steel, you just get classier and classier, don't you?

You should know better. Reppy's taken care of it.

As amazing as this may sound...I've really not been going out of my way lately to gain more "class" as you put it. Perhaps I just need to step away from the computer or something...

Everything...the author question...the OOC comments in the RP...and this IRC quote...

I really didn't mean anything by it. I'm not trying to flaunt my ego, rebel against anything, push people around, or break the rules. And yet the slip ups come...and every slip up I make seems to be rapidly documented in the moderation forum.

Bah...I don't know...perhaps some sort of apology is due...

Steel? A reality check for you.

It's a public forum, and one I've been consistently active on since I started playing.

I have that thread on my subscriptions, I look at it often. I'd just had that thread up looking at the post previous to your 'offering'. When I refreshed the main NS forum page, it showed a new post. So I refreshed the thread page, and voila, I see your post.

You're flattering yourself if you think you're being 'followed'. If you really think that's the case, I'm sure everyone would like to see the proof of it, right here.

Langenbruck: I quoted a portion of his post for the title, agreeing it was childish, for clarification.

EDIT: Was answering while other posts went up. I'm done.

I didn't think it was either. Then again, I didn't think it'd be instantly reported. Perhaps that's my problem lately...not thinking.

If a lesson has been learned it's to really analyze what I'm posting before I post it. As stupid as that may sound...apparently I've lost the ability to do it after nearly four years...

I'm not flattering myself and I'm not going to fight with you anymore. You commenting on each and every mistake I make is not simply my perception, nor is you consistantly harping on me rent-a-mod style...but like you said...

"I'm done."

I really just want this to end, Nathi. I apologize to Scolo and such for breaking rules.

You may end up ahead that way.

Everything...the author question...the OOC comments in the RP...and this IRC quote...
If you post everywhere, it's bound to get noticed. It's been noticed that you're now posting in General after that bit with Jocabia, and you've been lucky in that you've actually sparked useful debate. Still, the line of "Also, I fully understand that the enormity of my argument cannot possibly encompass a mere two and a half pages on Microsoft Word." pretty much screams hubris, so...

Again. Make yourself high-visibility...

Bah...I don't know...perhaps some sort of apology is due...
May be a start. That or stepping away.

I've been trying to expand myself after my disdain for General became well-documented. I figured to help General, as opposed to sitting back and criticizing it. As for what you quoted from that thread, it was just so that people wouldn't make the claim that I failed to expand on any of the topics I brought up.

Perhaps I should just stick to roleplaying. I seem not to have much luck elsewhere...

"Also, I fully understand that the enormity of my argument cannot possibly encompass a mere two and a half pages on Microsoft Word."

I bolded the part that suggests hubris. Imagine if anyone other than yourself had posted it, and then imagine your reaction to it. That thing has more hyperbolic adjectives and adverbs than should be legal under international law.

Also, the thought of you helping any forum by participating seems to me an act of ego bordering on the absurd. You're one user--one--in a sea of thousands. There are people equivalent to, and exceeding, you in intelligence, experience, and typing skills. You may be a unique snowflake but you are not causality's gift to much of anything.

If you want it straight, I'm of the opinion your problems are mostly caused by a series of severe overestimations. Overestimations of personal importance regarding the forums, of unviolable correctness, and of persecution. I'm not saying this to belittle you. I'm saying this because if people seem to think you're egotistical it may just possibly be because you are presenting that image.

So yes, step back, take true account of what you are and what you say, and show more caution. This current path leads towards problems no one particularly wants.

And if I am egotistical, then what? I'm not of the assumption that I don't carry a certain arrogance about me in real life...and naturally that extended to nationstates. What gets me is the reaction. In real life I tend to come off as egotistical, yes, but mostly genuine in my interactions. Unless I'm being lied to on a scale previously unmatched, lol, I'm typically well liked among people I interact with. Like I said, what gets me here is the reaction I recieve. Some people here don't mind a thing I say, or at least aren't vocal about it...and yet those such as you, Nathi, and GMC call me out on things I often don't even notice.

In regards to what you bolded, by "my argument" I meant "the argument," and I didn't really see a difference in it. I can kinda see now how you took it, but I meant "the enormity of the argument cannot possibly encompass a mere two and a half pages," using "my" in place of "the" since I was the one making the argument. It would be too "enormous" for two and a half pages no matter who was making it. Religion is never a simple topic.

Also, in regards to me "helping General," what I said was meant to be an allusion to "fixing the problem instead of sitting around doing nothing." In my opinion, which has been well documented as of late, General is quite flawed by most of its content dealing with debates. I'm not opposed to the funny thread here and there, but serious topics end in flames, and it's not productive at all. Therefore, I made a debate thread that you said yourself sparked something useful. That's certainly good, and helpful to improving General, regardless of the fact that I was the original poster. It's still helpful, and I've since stopped posting. It didn't "help General" because I posted it...it "helped General" because it contained within it good debate. Any thread containing such flame-less debate started by any poster on any topic would be considered "helpful to General" by me.

Obviously I don't find what may be my overestimations as "severe" as you and others do. I have pride that often borders on arrogance, but like I said, this goes by relatively unnoticed in real life. Meaningless as me saying this might be, I'm a friendly guy with good friends and a fun life. What often confuses me, as I said, is the reaction I get on the forums. Perhaps that's what leads me to believe at times that I'm being persecuted or singled out, because the reaction I recieve on occasion on here is far different from any I've recieved in real life. Perhaps a level of sarcasm or voice inflection is what "saves" me from similar reactions in real life.

I don't know...I don't feel belittled...and I'm happy to be talking to a mod relatively one on one for the first time since I can remember. These reactions lately have just been somewhat of a shock as far as internet relations are concerned. Not enough to lose sleep over of course, but troublesome nonetheless. The reactions I get from you guys just amaze me more than anything. I'm not some hated person in real life that no one can stand lol...and yet on here...

All I can say is that one can lead a horse to water.

That's more or less it. You may be able to get away with it in real life. This is different. Text carries no facial expression, no sense of wryness or self-parody that may make your actions vaguely tolerable in reality.

As I said, if you want it straight, I've already served it so. If you wish to rationalize and basically continue asserting that, no matter what, you're in the right because everyone else is overreacting, you're free to do so. Don't be surprised though when those overreactions end up burning you.

Here's the river, Steel. You thirsty?
