I had said from the beginning that the thread might not fit in the NationStates forum, and this is not about that.

Why it was moved to Jolt’s chat forum and not General is somewhat beyond me. As I said in the thread itself, I find it rather upsetting that I can't ask a simple question without getting people to think it's a thinly veiled guise to receive one-sentence compliments.

The thread, in my opinion, held within it a very serious question in regards to my life. No doubt a potential singer would ask those who heard him or her sing if he was any good. There is an enormous difference between those who can sing and those who are good enough to do it for a living. I can sing, but I’d never be able to make a career of it. Back on topic, I was asking, as a writer, what people thought when they looked at samples of my writing.

I wasn’t looking for compliments, I was, in fact, looking for anything. If some one thought my writing examples were cliché, shallow, or anything poor, it would be something I would note and something I would work on. There are a million ways I can think of to boost my ego. Opinions of people over an online forum is somewhere down in the 999,990-1,000,000 range.

But still, while my thread is hijacked and I am criticized, it is the thread, and in turn me, that ultimately takes the punishment, being cast out to be lost in the masses of Jolt. I don’t understand why. It shouldn’t matter if Nathi or anyone else it too cynical to take my question seriously. If it didn’t belong in the NationStates forum, then fine…it would have had a decent shelf life in General. But who knows…maybe that’s just my “ego” talking again…

It does seem a bit harsh to move the thread out to Chat instead of moving it to General even if it was in the wrong place, admittedly there was alot of attitude being thrown back just for saying so, could be that seeing as I've seen it before but I'm not a moderator as was made rather clear by Steal Butterfly during my 'hijack'.

I did take your post seriously, and answered you seriously. It's a pity you can't look past the lack of head-patting in my response long enough to grasp that.

Perhaps as you say, your ego is doing too much talking, and you should turn it off for a bit to see if some of the content offered might not be of some worth.

Besides, I think you've proven your point about attention and the like with your argument here. As well as deleting the link to the thread in question from your ooc thread where it no doubt would have gotten ample responses. If it isn't about that, why the anger and fuss over where it is? It's not like it was deleted, and you're entirely capable of directing folks there to comment if comments are really what you need.

Apologies, Nathi, for not thanking you whole-heartedly for your helpful advice that was pinned between character attacks. I'd hope you'd understand why, given the situation.

As for why I deleted the link in my OOC thread, it was because the thread no longer had the value it would have had we not all been bickering in it. Of course, the fault is partially mine since I responded to you all in kind, but that doesn't change the fact that the thread was somewhat trashed. I was going to come here and request that certain posts be deleted, but alas, the thread wasn't even in NationStates anymore...

Nationstates and International Incidents are for roleplay and roleplay-related threads, and we are constantly asked to remove non-roleplay threads from them.

Your opinion of the General Forum is pretty well-defined...

...and threads which are posted in General which are not of General interest but generally "What do you think of me?" threads, are usually moved to Chat or, if there is no redeeming value to it, to spam.
