Post Limit per Thread?

Hey, isn't there a post limit for a single thread?

If so, why is it that I see 18101 as post counts for some threads? It is very annoying to see such long threads, and the fact that some of them are called 'Revitalization' when they've been around for months...

1. I thought that was a rule for General, not for RP forums.

2. I think the rule has to some extent been set aside now anyway.

3. Why should a long thread be annoying? Just don't click on it if the postcount drives you into axe-wielding bouts of fury.

We must be doing a good job if the most people can complain of is long threads, threads that they believe should be locked because they have served their purpose....

I thought the post limit was dropped with the move to Jolt, but I could be wrong.

Actually I've been told by the mods that the post limit generally refers to posts in the 'General' forum and not roleplaying threads.

There's also a glitch in the move. It says 18,101 but it's really under 18,000 because of deleted posts.

And the Dutch thread (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=392194) has how many posts, again?

Anyway, why would you delete a thread just because it's "too long"? Plenty of debate threads go on for dozens of pages, and, unless they've descended into flame-fests, that's usually indicative of an entertaining and productive discussion. Why cut that off because it surpasses some arbitrary limit?

It was done to limit excessive chat threads on the old servers. It's not really enforced anymore. Chill out.
