So, laughing at rape and making jokes about being a rapist is perfectly acceptable, but telling these people to grow up is over the line?

Lest it seems like I'm only telling half the story, my mod-deleted post was the adult version of 'Flipping grow the flip up'.

Just for the record, any post I made is simply looking down on the idea that people laugh at male rape, not encouraging it...frankly, LG's post about doing this "for laughs" is uncalled for and unwarranted and he does need to grow up. I am well aware that's not my call to make, but just tossing in my two cents, which is worthless in most NS money...

Just because you were incapable of controlling your invective doesn't mean other people weren't able to. People are trying to turn it into a real discussion which is why I left it open.

You posting "fucking grow the fuck up" doesn't help in the slightest and shouldn't have been posted.

EDIT: Never mind. I disagree. And will leave it at that.

I'm supremely curious as to which part you disagree with. That some people are trying to make it legitimate or that your post was somehow helpful.

The latter.

Hokay, not entering into debate here, just explaining my feelings: that my comment was a way of saying 'you are being incredibly immature and need to catch yourself on'. It was a comment on how unacceptable I found the OP's comments to be.

Now if I had waded into a W40K vs. Star Wars thread and made the same comment whether it be about posters' individual preferences or the fact they were having such a debate, then I would consider it pure disruption and spam, but here when we're talking about someone laughing at the thought of real people undergoing forced penetration at gun or knife point I consider it a valid comment.

Basically my post was an angry exhortation for the OP to actually think a tiny bit deeper about what he was doing.

that my comment was a way of saying 'you are being incredibly immature and need to catch yourself on'.Phrasing counts for a lot. How many people would be screaming for my head if I told a player "fucking grow the fuck up"?

Basically my post was an angry exhortation for the OP to actually think a tiny bit deeper about what he was doing....which isn't really your job or responsibility. If you think it shouldn't be around, report it. If you don't think it's serious enough to report, ignore it. If you simply must put your minimod hat on, don't fucking swear at the fucking players.

Given that swearing has been deemed as generally acceptable in most instances, and given the prevalence of STFU posts across the forums, I considered it a valid post.

Was the language harsh? Certainly. Was it insulting? I wouldn't consider it so, but then maybe you and I move in different circles.

There is however a difference between reporting something (ie. saying 'this should not be tolerated here and must surely be against the rules') and expressing my personal opinion (ie. 'I find your views deeply objectionable').

My post wasn't intended as a case of minimodding, but instead a way of saying 'is it not obvious to you what is questionable about thinking that way if you stop for an instant and reflect'.
