The "Nazis or Israel"-thread (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=509774) is coming up on 3,000 posts, and is now only a repeat of the endless debate about who's most to blame of the Israelis and the Palestinians. Are these things put an end to, or will the thread go on forever?
Wandered quite a bit away from the original (silly) topic it has, so was wondering if it would count as a hijacked thread?
I was thinking most threads had up to(as maybe an unwritten rule), a life of like...3500 posts. I could be wrong though.

Pre-jolt there was a 1300 post limit. Before that, there were some very large threads (the Volcano comes to mind) clogging the servers.

Well there is a point to it being locked, after all it stopped being about the opening a long way back and had mostly gone into a roundabout where the same points were repeated over an over with very little headway being made. Though near the end it got very interesting regarding the discussion between Unknown Apathy and United Bereliand. Still I learned a few things about the Israel/Palestine issue so it wasn't a waste of my time.
