query...
Fris made this post (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=12030370&postcount=39).
and called such one sided polls trolling... is this true? MTae, (not defending him but using his thread as an example) is only asking for the opinions of those who wanted to/Support the declaration of war on Iraq. Hence the thread title "When Should the US Have Declared War on Iraq?"
he said in his first Post that it was a "strictly hypothetical chain of events. However, I'd like to see what people deem the correct time to engage in a war."
It sounded like it was more of those "Alternate History/situation" type thread that appears on General from time to time.
considering all that, including Mtae's own post (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=12029694&postcount=8) that says it's Hypothetical, why the ban for trolling?
If the objection to the thread was the fact that it did not have a "Never" option, wouldn't it be better for the mods to just add in the option?
Also many posting on the thread either did not understand Hypothetical or are spamming it, did they recieve warnings?
and what of this thread (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=509547) where the OP only wants the opinions of people that think a certain way? (I do ask to change the thread title to reflect the poll, but then I came across Mtae's banning and that brought this op to fruition.)
I'm just confused by the ruling where Mtae asks a Hypothetical question, is flamed by being called a troll and is banned because he missed an option, and those that either accidentally or purposefully mis-read his thread OP are not warned or corrected.
