So, it's your contention that he should make a new topic that nobody else posts to every time he wants to post on a story that interests him?

I'm sorry, but I don't see the harm in this. The possibility that nobody else cares is insufficient reason to close the thread.

I thought it was gravedigging, but if that's not your assessment, then I'm not going to argue.

It's gravedigging in the sense that there is a long time between posts, but that's not really relevant here. Each of those posts contains highly relevant information (as opposed to the usual General spammy gravedigging), so it just didn't seem like something to worry about.
