A Definite Transgression

The following thread began with a discussion of US military policy in Iraq. I accidentally missed the point of the article, and a slight bout of flaming ensued. By the second page, however, various people were simply discussing the best way of torturing me. It is quite disgusting.

I somehow doubt that they're seriously planning to capture you and tie you up above an alligator pit.
It looks more like gentle teasing.

Nah, I just got a little carried away with it, and by the time I got to the point of torture, I had pretty much forgotten I was going after you or anyone. It's just a bunch of...ahem, general evil ideas. If people want to do the same to me, whatever.
I'm interested in what the mods have to say about this one. I wouldnt have thought flaming was involved in the earlier posts (I interpret flaming as personal attacks about the poster, rather than criticism of a posters conduct or argumentation methodology). The torture stuff does seem mostly light-hearted, but the well-known animosity towards MTAE and the fact that it seems a bit of a beat up for everyone in the thread to focus on what kind of torture methods ought to be employed against one particular poster might be considered aggravating factors.
I can accept that perhaps the animosity towards MTAE might not be the cause and rather it is just light-hearted humour, but then again, it's equally reasonable to interpret (some or all of) the comments as being motivated by animosity and/or as being personally directed. I suspect that the motivation of the poster would only be part of the issue (in such cases), and that the mods might well consider how it might appear to the targeted poster as well as the actual intentions of the 'accused'.
Usually it's not too hard to predict what the mods will rule, but I gotta say, I have not a clue what they'll decide in this case (and I'm glad it's them and not me who has to make a call on this one), so I'm interested to see what they make of it.
I like to know these things so I can attempt to stay out of trouble, so I'm keen to see how it pans out.

Accidentally?
I didn't bother to read the whole post -- I just assumed that's what it was about. Many people do that to my topics, too.
After reading that thread a couple of times, I see some responses to the comment above that were a bit questionable, but not actionable. As to the torture... that appears to be more a spammy diversion based off of a comment you made and the fake story it inspired. It was silly, worthy of a knock it off, but as the topic stopped several hours ago, I'm not going to bump it back up just to tell the participants that.
As it devolved into spam, the thread has been locked.
