Jenraks new Picture Thread (for pics of NSers) has just been merged with the Photography thread.

Could someone please un-merge the two threads again? Thanks a lot.

There were two photography threads open and being used on the top page of General. If the pictures were supposed to be OF NSers, that was pretty unclear -- it said simply to "post you pictures."

They're both photography threads, yes, but they're on different topics: one for photography as an art form and critiques and stuff, and the other just for pictures of NSers. The thread is actually a bit confusing now, because the topics don't really match. I think that's why they're asking it be unmerged.


EDIT: And now that I look at it, you're right. Jenrak's OP was unclear.

I know, when I saw Jenrak's title I thought for a second that somebody had made a new Photography thread, too.

Yeah, the pics of gravestones seem just a bit out of place with the later posts. Otherwise I think it would be best that the thread doesn't become a "pics-of-NSers" thread since there are obviously quite a few people contributing their own artwork to it already and they probably wouldn't be too happy about it.

could the new "photography" thread simply have its name changed, after the two are un-merged. the real photography thread is a long-running and active thread, and it would be a shame for the two to get confused as they have.

either that or i'll post a big size-7 post in the photography thread telling people not to post player pictures.

I'd really hate it if the photos that I took were lost in a pile of off-topic(ish) this is what I look like stuff.

the OP of the photography thread is quite clear what it is about.
same goes for the new "post you pictures" thread.

photography is a serious hobby for many NSers and messing up the longstanding thread with gormless mugshots is far from encouraging.

un-merging would be great, though perhaps in a short while people will stop posting new player pics in the photography thread and the issue will resolve itself.

Thanks for the insulting assumption that I DIDN'T read it -- as pointed out above, and confirmed above, it was unclear. "Post you pictures" doesn't necessarily mean "post pictures of yourself".

The easiest thing would be to repost a "Pictures of NSers" photography thread with a clear opening post about its purpose. -- unmerging is not, unfortunately, an automatic function.

and i did assume that you can't have read the OP's as they were indeed clear (i certainly was not confused after reading the OPs). the titles, however, were not clear. hence i assumed that the only way you could have been confused on the intended topics of the treads in question was to have not read the OP's. i do apologise if this offends you or is incorrect, but you can see the logic in my assumption at least.


either way, it seems to be sorted now (with a title change) and the photography thread is back on track :)

I believe an update is required for those of the picturesque variety. Post you pictures, so our perceptions of you can be shattered - simple.
