Read this for starters.

Secondly, realize that people on here have strong opinions, and I mean Strong Opinions. Your going to be offended on this site, alot.

thirdly, while the mods may seem like the national asshole association(sorry mods), their not, if anything their just really blunt.

Yeah, you can look at the mods one of two ways, either they are not power-drunk control freaks, in which case chances are they are not out to get you or anyone else,
or
they are power-drunk control freaks, in which case they dont want to scare you or anyone else off because that's just one less person to power-drunkenly control... - it's no fun bossing around an empty forum....;)

Either way, it's difficult to reasonably conclude that the mods are actually out to get you (or anyone for that matter).

The mods are generally (so far as I can tell) quite tolerant and forgiving of posters who show a genuine intention to get past their errors and 'up their game', and really, with the 'ignore feature', they are the only posters you necessarily must pay attention to.

To improve your chances of fitting in and being viewed receptively (by other players) I'd suggest a bit more effort in the presentation of your posts. No reasonable person will give you crap over an odd typo or spelling error, but most players expect a genuine attempt at proper English, and you'll be viewed more credibly if you conform to this expectation (for instance type 'sorry' instead of 'sry', 'please' instead of 'plz' and add in the odd bit of punctuation here and there).

For role playing I'd look around at the regions (on the NationStates-proper pages) and try to find a region to join where new role players are encouraged and helped out. I'm sure if you look around you'll find a friendly region of role players who will be happy to help you integrate.

Best of luck to you.

Start with proper spelling. "plz" has never been, and will never be, a word.
