Uhhh...What's Going On?

SeaQuest DSV

I was AFK for a few hours to watch some recorded programs from last night and when I got back my remaining nations and those of most of my friends who had remained in the United Earth Oceans region were deleted.

Now, I've not flamed, that I know of, nor have I broken any rules of the forums or NS since I started posting as SQDSV only. All my OOC posts have been clean and all my IC posts have been just that, In character and not a reflection of my personal opinions.

Also, most of friend's nations that were deleted had never even been on the forums. Except for a few that tried it on for a few posts, some longer than others, they generally kept to themselves.

Now, I request a reason for all these deletions and that all those nations be restored. If need be, I can provide a complete list of all our nations.

We know them.

We know they're your sockpuppets.

We know they conveniently filled the regional message board with sockpuppet spam within moments of each other.

We know, and you know, that you've been warned about this sort of thing and that the next time you stepped out of line you'd lose them all.

Well, you did and here we are now.

My remaining puppets were Jarvon, SeaQuest DSV, Velantia, Macronesian Alliance, and New SeaQuest. Planet Zi was my sister's main nation and the others belonged to various other friends of mine.

If you are going to punish us for RPing with our various puppets with the 'newcomers', then I don't see what things are coming to. As I recall, there is no rule about RPing.

And if you call that spam, then you should also call what the region jackers were posting as spam as well.

I sat by and didn't pursue it in regards to the deletion of SQ, SSQ, and SQ2032. However, you have gone to far this time. You have deleted more than just my nations, you've deleted my friends's nations.

If you don't believe me, then explain the various IPs. Explain how more than one of us was able to be logged in at the same time.

You know full well which nations are mine, I've made no secret of them. However, the others are not and were never mine. Now, I know you won't believe it, but you have my honest to god word on that.

When a group of friends can't RP with other's, be it on the forums or regional messageboards, like now, then I have just reason to question it. We did nothing wrong.

Uh huh, yeah, sure. Real different IP addresses, real different e-mail addresses. Hell, they were even different in the things that it it's policy not to specify that we can see. Yup. They were all really different in every way except for name.

Oh, wait.

We are seriously not that stupid, SQ. Pull the other one.

So what if we were so lazy that we decided to share? You have no proof other than that that

On these comps, it takes far longer than a few seconds to log-out, so how we could post messages within seconds of each other, I don't know. I don't know what you are trying to pull with this, but its not going to work. We did nothing wrong and want our nations rightfully restored to us.

I've been told in TGs that you are supposed to send warnings before deletion. We never got a single one.

Honestly, if you had bothered to check the IPs, you would see that I use certain comps and my friends and family use others. So what if they are similar, we live in the same area code, same building.

You've been warned with previous nations and deleted as those nations. That was your warning.

Honestly, if you had bothered to check the IPs, you would see that I use certain comps and my friends and family use others. So what if they are similar, we live in the same area code, same building.

And share the same writing style, troll the same people, all have the same views on any given thing, and all share email addresses, along with various other things.

As said, pull the other one. Your family is either a functional gestalt mind, or you're lying.
Neo SeaQuest

1.) I'm not lying, that's a plain and simple fact.

2.) My sister was my only family with active nations in the UEO region, but she only posted as one, her own, Planet Zi.

3.) You still have yet to counter the proof of the fact the IPs are different.

4.) So what if we have a shared E-mail accounts. Its alot easier to use one account for all NS stuff than have to dig through so many for so many seperate people's nations and their puppets.

5.) You have yet to explain how we are able to have more than one of us logged in at the same time.

6.) The reason the posting styles are similar is because Jarvon, Velantia, Macronesian Alliance, SeaQuest DSV, and New SeaQuest were mine. Look back and you'll find those few of the others that posted were quite different.

7.) I was not warned, I was threatened. When SQ and SSQ were deleted, I was told to back off or have SQ2032 deleted. When SQ2032 was deleted, I was told to back off or have all my nations deleted. I backed off both times and have given you no reason for this mass deletion of mine, my friends, and my family's nations.

8.) I've never trolled and you full well know that. I'm the one who is baited, not the one doing the baiting.

9.) Now, I'm sorry if I'm being a little too blunt for your tastes, but you've left me with no other options and have backed me into a corner.

10.) Last I checked, there was no rule against RPing or people using puppets to carry on conversations.

Right. Captain Occam's going to have a word about that...

On these comps, it takes far longer than a few seconds to log-out,
Yup, I'm sure it takes a half hour each. What's it like cruising the Internet on a Commodore 64?

so how we could post messages within seconds of each other, I don't know.
I do. For one, it helps to not assume hyperbole to be reality.

I don't know what you are trying to pull with this, but its not going to work. We did nothing wrong and want our nations rightfully restored to us.
Not gonna happen, charlie. Again, wait for Captain Occam.

I've been told in TGs that you are supposed to send warnings before deletion. We never got a single one.
Calling bullshit on that one. You were warned (and deleted) as SeaQuest, warned as SeaQuest DSV, warned as SeaQuest 2032. Plenty of telegrams between 'em and plenty of Getting Help Requests too.

Honestly, if you had bothered to check the IPs,
Yup, we did.

you would see that I use certain comps and my friends and family use others. So what if they are similar, we live in the same area code, same building.
Ah yes, the exact same one. Alright, let's look at this scientifically.

Hypothesis one: One person with a lot of time on their hands--meaning one very small range of IP, one to, oh, let's say four e-mail addresses, a small range of web browsers, and a very small number of hashes--creates forty puppets and decides to put on a Punch and Judy show for everyone else.

Hypothesis two: Forty or so people who live in the same subnet or series of subnets--who follow each other constantly on a daily basis--create forty individual nations plus some puppets but make sure that they can log on to each other's puppets, all use the same small number of e-mails, and then proceed to post on the same threads, show the exact same interests, act the exact same ways, have the exact same diction, use the exact same Internet idiosyncracies, and so on and so forth.

Alright, then! Captain Occam, which one of these hypotheses readily explains our observations with the least number of assumptions?

http://server106.totalchoicehosting.com/~tpjzdd/albums/randomocity/occamlogo.gif (http://www.captainoccam.com)

"Well, the first hypothesis is well within the realm of a single user--one assumption--makes the assumption of multiple-emails--so two--and assumes a reasonable internet lifestyle--so three. The second hypothesis assumes the same, but multiplied by forty users and added the additional hypothesis of extremely close coordination in all things. Three times forty plus one is one-hundred-twenty-one assumptions. I'd have to go with the first assumption, especially as the second gives me the visual image of an entire line of people waiting to use the computer like a bank at rush hour and that just makes me giggle."

We're not going to post your IP address on the forums because there are such things as privacy laws. You've ran all of our patiences dry. It's my sincere recommendation you drop the act but fast.

3.) You still have yet to counter the proof of the fact the IPs are different.

You have still yet to provide any proof of that 'fact.' We don't have to counter something you have no evidence of whatsoever.

5.) You have yet to explain how we are able to have more than one of us logged in at the same time.

You have yet to demonstrate this has ever been the case.

7.) I was not warned, I was threatened. When SQ and SSQ were deleted, I was told to back off or have SQ2032 deleted.

You had previous warnings for your conduct on these forums. When those nations were deleted, you were informed the precise reason: namely, that they were both used to flame people in a discussion on, IIRC, mechs in FT.

The fact that you don't like that doesn't mean we haven't told you a thousand fucking times that it was the reason.

When SQ2032 was deleted, I was told to back off or have all my nations deleted. I backed off both times and have given you no reason for this mass deletion of mine, my friends, and my family's nations.

Actually, the correct answer is #3.

"A handful of friends get together, find out about NS as a good place to hang, and make a few nations. A region is founded for the friends to hang out in. Each starts making puppets until the region is filled. Puppet nations are then traded like collector cards. A single individual, the one with the best economy, is voted in to make sure that all nations don't get auto-deleted from inactivity and to make sure the issues are done so their economies get a boost. The region founder gets a few more friends he never met face-to-face before onto NS and invites their nations into the region. Region founder starts RPing with an occasional post by one of the others."

Yes, and that scenario would be turned down as the plot of a Billy Jack movie for being too contrived and unrealistic. And fails to explain why your 'group of friends' all think and write the same.

Just because you don't like me doesn't mean you have to pull this kind of move with banning and deleting my nations and those of my friends and family for nothing.

You have still yet to provide any proof of that 'fact.' We don't have to counter something you have no evidence of whatsoever.

Oh, and you expect me to be able to see IPs? Come on! You know I can't do that.

You have yet to demonstrate this has ever been the case.

Kind of hard to, seeing how you deleted the accounts. There were plenty of TGs prooving this. Also several posting on the regional messageboard at the same time. There's also the time I and a friend posted at the same time on NS.

You had previous warnings for your conduct on these forums. When those nations were deleted, you were informed the precise reason: namely, that they were both used to flame people in a discussion on, IIRC, mechs in FT.

SQ was deleted for that one post. None others. When I asked for proof, you only cited that one post and nothing else. Same thing with SQ2032

The fact that you don't like that doesn't mean we haven't told you a thousand fucking times that it was the reason.

One post with an account is not justifiable reason for an automatic deletion. Same thing with SQ2032, one post and its straight to deletion.

Aside from spamming your RMB and harassing the moderators over your previous deletion repeatedly after being told to drop it, you mean?

Like I said, I didn't. My nations have been and always been SQ, SSQ, SQDSV, SQ2032, Jarvon, Velantia, NSQ, and MA. None others.

Now, you continue to deny the proof of different IPs, different styles, and the obvious proof of multiple accounts logged in at the same time.

There is no proof. You are simply flailing around and making wild accusations you can't back up with any evidence of any description.

Seaquest, let me make this clear one final time: if your next post to this thread is anything other than your complete agreement that you will drop this matter entirely, you will be perminantly banned from this site. For a time I considered sparing your wretched little planet Cybertron, but carry on and you will witness its dismemberment. Clear?

Actually, its more likely that he meant everyone.

Oh, and 'Cybertron', you've lost me.

Please, for the love of God just agree and have done. You profit nothing from getting IP/Permabanned and thus denying yourself NS. Relent, restart, reform...Just don't push this, I'm begging you.

How many times do I have to say I give up!? And no, I'm not restarting, I'm continuing to RP as myself.

Seaquest, you saw the part about what your next post should be, correct? Are you still going to act surprised and outraged that you're now permabanned from the entire site, in spite of being told, specifically, that if you posted anything but complete agreement to the ruling given that would be precisely what happened?

I said it already before you made that post: I give up.

No, you didn't. You have gone on with the "poor me" testimonial for the last 45 minutes while Mei, and Scolo have provided evidence of your offenses, whilist you continue to preach that you did absolutley no wrong and go even so far as to use mod bias as a reason for the loss of your puppets.

At the very end he did say that he'd given up though....I think he ought to have a chance, since he did say it. And there was Scolo saying to end and GMC pressuring for an answer....Come on guys, he'd said it already!
