A Query about previous offences

nothing serious here i was just thinking the other day and i wondered if previous offences (bannings, deats) were used as a record for current ones. now i know if it all happens quickly then its obvious they build up to a DoS or such. but what if say they happened a year ago?
e.g. i've been deleted twice. both for silly things which i shouldn't have done. but they were well over a year ago and i'm just wondering should i (or anyone else) still be worried about being on the edge of more serious trouble for minor infractions because of my past history?
sorry if you think this is time wastage

My guess would be that if you don't do anything wrong with your new account, you won't have any trouble. The idea of a DEAT is to say you've gone too far, not that you're no longer welcome; if they minded you coming back, they'd block you from rejoining.
If you do do something in your new account I would assume that your past history would be looked at. Just like in real life people tend to get more leniency for first offences, but if you're showing a consistent refusal to follow the rules then they will have much less patience for your actions. You can't claim 'you didn't know' if you've been told repeatedly, neither can you say it was a 'one-off mistake' when you've got history.
Like I say, all of that is just assumptions based on how I've seen the Mods work. What isn't an assumption is my honest advice; don't break the rules, and it will never be an issue.

We don't have a Big Black Book where we keep a list of each player's offenses with all their various puppets. First, that would be far too much trouble, and second, the offenses are tied to the nations rather than the players.
When somebody does something outrageously stupid, we'll usually investigate the history of known puppets. If it's just ordinary stupidity, we might skip the investigation, or we might keep an eye out for future instances by the same player. There's no set rule or pattern. We have certain methods for tracking habitual rulebreakers, but they're too much trouble for keeping up with occasional rulebreakers.
Deletion is our subtle way of telling you, "You screwed up big time that time, bubba." We operate under the reasonable assumption that you will chalk that up as a 'learning experience', and not screw up in the same way again with your other nation(s). Only when someone demonstrates that they are unwilling or unable to learn from this experience do we bring out the big guns.

so one wouldn't have to worry about their second or third nation being deleted for an offence usually seen as non deletable just because of their past history then (unless say they did the same kinda thing again)?

Not a mod but their general thrust is toward enforcing rules in order to keep the forum orderly and enjoyable. They do also advise players of ways to avoid running afoul of the rules but I would imagine that their main "training via information" focus is upon getting everyone to play nice and to not get caught up in the heat of a moment and break rules "accidently". It would not be in their best interest to spell out exactly how far you might bend the rules and which you might break without losing your nation. Post within the rules and no threat of losing your nation exists. In spelling out that you want to know exactly how far you can push the rules you have shown implied intent to break the rules and have possibly given reason to DEAT your nation for any rules violations sooner rather than later.

Yes, i know how dodgy my question sounded. I mean i didn't want them to say i could do this or that and not get deleted immediately. I was actually just curious if my (or anyone elses) previous record from a significant time ago would affect future decisions. Its hypothetical. I'm NOT actually planning on breaking rules to test them. I like my nation too much.
