Abuse Of Power
Nova Vinlandia

It appears the mods are abusing power, locking any thread they disagree with.
Anyone else have this problem?
Oh yeah, mods, dont delete this in fear of having people criticize your options(no matter how retarded they are)

He had a full minute of warning. Four to sixteen minutes, if you count Erastide's advice (which he ignored). Plenty of time.

Amazing how enforcing rules=abusing power, and breaking them repeatedly=martyred hero, innit?Apparently not always. I'm sure he doesn't consider it an abuse of powers when you rid his region of spammers.
THANKS MODS
I recently witnessed an event so... well... disturbing that I have to say...
I <3 THE NS MODS!!!!
Another site was being spammed, and all their mods could do was sit back and shout "Stop it"
it was horrible... people leaving left and right... and there was nothing the mods could do...

didn't wanna start another Spammy "good for you Mods" type thread... and since this was about abuse of power... I wanted to illustrate that a depowered mod is one that is useless as a mod.
and that you guys don't abuse your powers. :D

if you're asking about the site.... sorry, I don't wanna embarrasse those poor mods anymore... :(
Having witnessed recent events here in moderation, let me simply say that I Empathise with the mods position. I've been in a leadership position myself, and no matter what they do, people are going to be displeased with them. You can please some people part of the time, but you cannot please everyone all the time. The posters need to realise this, and back off the mods.
If I could, I'd help them out, and let them have a vacation, but, well, that's not in my dominion of power. I can imagine though.
Anyways, back on topic. I am very sorry that Certain posters have been giving you a continually hard time, no matter what. Don't let it break your spirit.

I think the OP had some really racist thread started up in General, and it got removed. Apparently he didn't like that.

Not implicating anything here, just that the only thing that comes to mind that might be way is that old addage: "Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely".
Reminder: Not stating an opinion of the Mods, just suggesting a possible reason why the accusation was made in the first place. TBH, I can't think of anything else that would fit the situation.
Sorry if I stepped on anyone's toes here.
Note: I repeat, I am not tyring to implicate anything in regards to the Mods. Only stating the only reason that came to mind in order to answer TMGH's question of 'Why?'.

I have my own unaswered questions concerning Moderator activies, but I prefer to ask them and hold judgement until after I get responses to them (but not always necessarily(sp?) answers). Now, as, IMHO, this isn't the thread to get into such things, I'll not go into what my unanswered questions (mainly one in particular that keeps bugging me) are unless you request me to.
Though, TBH, the "One Stop Rules Shop" thread isn't as clear as it used to be. To much general stuff and far too much room is left for interpretation.

Just another pro-swastika, anti-Max zealot who can't make his point without a massive copy/paste from some hate site. Rules don't apply to those guys, do they?

That's precisely the point. If we were to get into specifics on say what someone can't post, that person would be like "OMG IT DoESNT SAY THAT IN THE RULES SO I CAN DO IT!@#@#." Much easier to make generalized rules rather than specific rules, so that people can't slide around them. Easier to enforce as well.
The rules are purposely left open-ended. I don't see what's so hard to understand about The One-Stop Rules Shop. Seems pretty clear to me on what you shouldn't do.
Seaquest, I feel for your situation, really, I do.
But for the love of all things good and holy, Please, just drop it before the Mods DOS you out of shear irritation.
Some things just have to go unanswered.

To end this thread hijack: Seaquest HAS had his question answered, multiple times. Apparently the ruling is not one with which he agrees, which is unfortunate, but that does not mean that it has not been given to him.

AIM's dead. AOL itself should follow soon, I hope.
