I can't help but think that this thread is a new type of trolling.

I come from a moneyed family of Luxembourg, who basically do everything apart from work - including these horrid social occasions. And I've been invited to one with the extended family, to be held in Paris. This means people coming from Monaco, Luxembourg, Malta, England and even Taiwan. Now, collectivley, we're valued in the high millions. So I don't want to look cheap. what to wear? I hate this season's tight clothing range as well. Yeugh! So what to wear - and before anyone says, I don't have time for it to be tailored - the invitation was delayed in the post, and I only got told when my cousin Francoise phoned me up to ask me what I'd be wearing.
Now, this is slightly irritating in a rich-git-showing-off kind of way, but there are various other posts that make me think that it is someone delibarately trying to wind people up:
That may be a good thing. I remember when my mother forced myself and my sister Leonie (how do you do acute accents on jolt?) to work to gain experience, and the hours (not literally) we would spend choosing outfits, makeup-ing, making sure our clothes didn't calsh, making sure our hair was perfectly in place. You know the thing.

And the piece de resistance:
And I had to state that I had a lot of moeny, so people don't go telling me to wear things from Debenhams etc....for example, my boyfriend, who went missing in one of the senseless Middle East wars - at least I and his family have never heard from him...I spend exactly 56.7% on charitable causes...You spend 56.7% of what, exactly? You've already said you don't earn anything...i have tried, successfully, for 100 odd days to keep my life to myself.

Both rich and poor and well-oof people are bought up with manners - i have a friend who works in a factory, and lives in a damp flat - and she's perfectly polite.

I'm really sorry for wasting your time if this is nothing and it's just me getting wound up by someone flashing their money about; however, I do believe there is enough here to at least raise suspicions. I was hoping that you might have some super-duper Mod tools that could check it out more effectively.

I'm looking into it.

But currently, nothing they've posted seems actionable.

I really don't see that there are any rules about someone nattering on about their fabulous wealth and how dreary a lifestyle it is.

It does strike me, however, that since the thread is basically about their personal life and not of General interest, that it is probably more suited to the Chat forum.

ok, well thanks for moving it. I just got the impression they were making it up, but I understand there's no rule against that, as long as it doesn't violate another rule. Having looked through their post history, it does seem like they are just a slightly disagreeable character. Sorry for the time waste.

So we won't see a 'Gastineau girls' or 'Hilton sisters' threads in here. What a drag!

It felt an awful lot like some one was role playing-I didnt find it offensive-I was having some fun with it and the OP managed to remain pretty civil despite many comments.
