I'm bored, so I started looking at The World list..
I'm finding a lot of puppets.
What would you need so many puppets for?

For one, doesn't this belong in the Gameplay forum?
And for two, I have my reasons.
Well as long as your puppets aren't UN delegates(if you are), and they aren't causing any harm, then you can have them for any number of reasons, to express ideas on the forums that you don't want to express under your main nation, or perhaps you just want more nations for RPing, or simply you want to start a new nation for the hell of it. I never got the puppeting myself. Why would anyone want to do it? I know i never would!

Many choose to use them for RP purposes. Different kinds of nation, with different laws, values, cultures and governments, can be fun to play but virtually impossible to believably pull off by using the same nation for all of them. Others simply use different nations for the game itself -- one nation they will try to make into an evil dictatorship, another nation they will try to make into a communist morass, another into a capitalist democracy, another into a social democracy... etc, etc, etc.
The people who have puppets numbering into the hundreds, are just mad. I personally have 32, though I barely use half of them.
I have various types of nations, with very different philosiphies and tech levels. I don't know how anyone can maintain hundreds of puppets, though. I have around 20, but a number of them will probably CTE. I probably use about 5 on a regular basis, and currently only 2 are highly active.

I believe this question is about the recent trend of creating tens or hundreds of numbered puppets, supposedly as a way of breaking the Influence system during invasions. Despite the fact that it doesn't do what the proponents claim it does (as anyone who reads the influence rules can figure out), they piled tons of them into and out of regions.
This movement has been declared "spam", and such runs of nations are now routinely deleted when used in this way. (Incidentally, non-numbered puppets used in the same way will meet a similar fate.)
