Just wondering, but who were the mods during the FUA incident in 2004?

What do you mean by "incident"?

I was around when a bunch of players marched off to form their own forum with no rules.

...which was quickly shut down by the hosting company for violating the ToS.

Hack,

He's talking about this part of the Wikipedia Article.

Some players assert that game moderators hold a left-wing bias, although there are quite a few moderators who are self-proclaimed conservatives. Others assert that the moderators are too strict and delete any players whom challenge them with an argument. A polarizing issue arose in 2004 when a number of ex-players created an offsite forum named FUA. [1] Moderators declared that if anybody linked to FUA, they would be deleted (on the grounds that the site had pornographic pop-up advertisements). When the forum ceased to exist, moderators celebrated, which was seen as irresponsible. [2]

Somebody edited it eh? Its seems more Mod friendly, whereas before it had an anti-mod feel to it.

I could make an account on Wikipedia and just take that out if you don't want the general public knowing about it....

It's been blunted a little. As far as whiny ex-player edits go, that one's pretty minor. Better than the shit Shovel liked pulling.

Besides, anybody who takes the time to look with open eyes will realise they're full of bullshit.

These fleeting thoughts
I treasure thee
These grapes, so sour yet sweet
Rushed
Old enemies recede
Each bite absolves me

I have to admit that the mysteries of the NationStates Forums prior to my joining are quite interesting. It's like a mini archaeological dig.

How do you all feel to be my mummies? :p

I'm not a mummy -- I haven't any rugrats yet! ;)

Hey, s'fine. With all the current stuff we've got to deal with, I think we mods can let an "incident" that happened two years ago lie. It's a matter of public record anyhow -- anyone interested can ask other players or search old threads.

Oh, I wasn't asking you to lock it. I was hoping you might all come and enlighten us newbies away from the constraints of the Moderation forum.

Bah, whatever I say will be considered "Mod Bias" anyhow.

Since Lexington SC appears to be getting his answers, I believe this thread can be closed.
