And then the nice replies are posted...

I don't know if it's actionable or not, but it is uncomfortable to read things like this

Well, whoever it is needs help, and not nastygrams.

personally i'd say that the post linked to by Gravlen is probably flaming, although so is this response:

shut up you bastard. We all give a rats ass so fuck you!

I don't see what you actually hope to achieve by bringing the mods attention to the topic as a whole Deep Kimchi, I don't see how the topic is breaking the rules and don't see what someone could expect the mods to do about it.

I brought it up when it was only a single post with no response, and I am concerned that someone might actually be suicidal.

even IF this person is genuinly suicidal there really isnt anything the mods can do about it, the person could be in any part of any country in the world.

Best the mods could do is maybe post a link to a help site and lock the thread.

don't know if it is actionable, but one thing is for certain, more people are trying to help then not.

at this point, I don't think the mods should do anything. shutting the thread down will probably push the person (if he/she is serious) into rash action... and turning this thread over to a psychologist may also be seen as a betrayl of sorts. (don't know if doing that will violate the Privacy agreement also.)

for now, leaving the thread be and having the posters urge the OP to seek help (as well as giving friendly advice) may be the best thing to do. but the mods should monitor for out of control trolling and flaiming.

Internet forums are not really the place to seek help anyway.

But when someone does use them to seek help, shouldn't we at least try??? :(

Help them by encouragement and recommending places to get professional assistance, and keep away the trolls.

Glad you deleted that post quickly, Tactical Grace. I'm grateful.
Not bad

Thank you for removing the post.

While I agree that internet forums are not proper places to seek this kind of help, if the OP is legit then he may not have other options which he has the ability/trust/emotional resources to use. Maybe the thread can send him towards a better place to get real help. Hope springs eternal.
