There was alot more to my post than what you showed there.

And yes, I consider anyone who straps bombs to themselves and blows up innocents savages, war on an innocent nation, and cannot tolerate a small tiny nation such as Israel on resource dry land who take up about 1% of the Muslim world a savage...if that isnt the epitome of savage, then I dont know what is.

Also the arabs I was talking about were not just all arabs in the world...but the ones that waged war on Israel.


I think its ok to call Nazis savages because of their crimes and the wars they waged, is it not ok to call the arabs (only the ones who waged war on Israel to destroy its right to exist) savages?

I don't think its all right to call nazis or arabs savages since neither really are. They both have a civilisation.

Since Fris said earlier that member comments were welcome- I'd like to put my 2 cents in.

I dont think what Atlantian said warrants any kind of action....much worse was said to him earlier in the thread and in most other arguments in which no action is taken. I have interacted with Atlantian in various threads and he's polite and an overall nice person. I'm vouching for him because I know there was a dispute/situation earlier between him and another player(this player is usually super nasty to people anyway if they disagree with him/her)and didnt want him to get two strikes against him so close together. Atlantian was verbally warned by Fris and I'm sure he is making an effort not to get into that kind of heated argument again after being advised by a mod.

He was expressing his opinion about a group that he feels is savage. He didnt call them assholes, dickheads or any other poor excuses for insults.

It wasnt very nice to call the Native Americans savages either. It happens everytime a thread comes up about them and no one bats an eye or reports it. It's not nice to say but it's not necessarily flaming either. Saying "not so nice" things isnt against the rules unless it's a deliberate attempt to rile someone. If it were, the self proclaimed pedophiles would have been 86'd a long time ago. Atlantian was stating his opinion on a group, not trying to get a rise out of anyone.

I'm not offended by him insulting nazies or arabs I am just saddened by the misuse of the word savages. It's really a shame how ignorant people are about their own language.

Looking at old moderation leads one to the conclusion that posters are discouraged from making the crux of their arguments rest on gross and offensive generalizations. However, when the statement is of the posters actual opinion, on point in the debate and supported, and doesn't appear to have the purpose of being offensive, precedent suggests this won't be acted upon.

Most of the German population who were members of the Nazi party didn't commit war crimes, and most arabs aren't terrorists who are waging war against Israel. So no, it's not all right.

I understand what you are saying, please hear me out. The arabs what I was talking about wasnt just the general arabs of the world..but the ones who waged war on Israel soley because they didnt think it should exist. Please, look into my post beyond what was shown in the OP and look at what the other posters have commented.

I'm not going to pretend like what I said was nice...but I am going to say its my opinion and I did back up why. It wasnt a racist generalization...I was only talking about the arabs who attacke Israel.

In my opinion, it's next to impossible to read between the lines of what someone's saying on the Internet unless you know that person extremely well. If you don't specify a certain subset of people (such as zealous fanatics or members of Al Qaeda) and you just leave it as "Arabs," it's reasonable to assume that you consider all Arabs to be savages.

I'm not sure how much mods are willing to read between the lines.

Notice...He was saying it was a mistake to put Israel in the middle east.

And I said that if they didnt act like savages and tolerated a small nation instead of attacking it and just let it live, it would be fine.

Dobbsworld, if you ever decide to grace Moderation with your pointed 'Ignore' warnings again, you'll probably end up banned for a good long while. Your self-imposed timeout doesn't seem to be working very well.

If you want to ignore someone's posts, do so. Pointing it out, while elaborating on the shortcomings of the person you're ignoring, is little more than flamebaiting.
