So what are they going to do?? Ban me and prove me right???? If a mod personally finds a topic offensive fine, but they should then be fair and close other topics that are offensive as well and not force (and that is what they are doing in effect) there personal views and opinions on all here.

How is posting a pole asking opinions and views on shaving ones personal area any more offensive then this topic???

And my topic was closed because some hypocritical mod called it “totally inappropriate”
Now I see how it works a topic will only get closed if some mod or other takes offence to the topic, are all the mods here single/closed minded hypocrites?
:upyours:

You'll also notice the topic is just ripe with spam and flamebait.

Thread deleted.

The size of any historical figure's manhood is not suitable debate material.

I am not for censorship at all, as long as the posters don't go overboard and name call and so on debate away. The point I was making was why one mod will close a topic because he/she finds it offensive, and others that may offend remain open. As far as I am concerned let all topics remain open, as long as they are not spam, advocating something illegal, or get nasty (name calling and personal insults) leave them be, let people express there varied opinions. But be fair about what you close, if you close one topic because you find it offensive, and then close others that run along the same lines.

I believe a blanket ban on "sizing up" historical figures in the General Forum is as consistent a policy as you can hope for.

You're aware that being offensive isn't the only reason to close a topic, no?

The mods actually try to encourage the discussion of things they don't agree with. Think about it, if you have an opinion (and, yes, they have them) and you believe the evidence is on your side (say what you want about the mods, but most of the forum mods have thoroughly explored their positions), why wouldn't you want that to be discussed? Wouldn't you want to encourage people to 'shine the light' on those issues?

If you need links I will show you a number of times the mods have protected posters and topics they didn't agree with giving the express reason that they believe leaving it open or allowing the poster to remain will expose them to reason.

However, when a thread offers up no real discussion and seems to have only two purposes, to spam and to offend, it has nothing to offer in terms of discussion and debate which are the purposes of the general forum. What do you think anyone is going to explore or become informed about in a discussion of the genetalia of ancient historical figures?
