OK, nobody freak out over this ...

... I'm only asking for clarification.

UN Proposal titles.

As far as I know, they must be germane to the proposal text. But what about proposals with overly broad, vague and/or politically charged titles? For instance:

If the ALC were submitted under the title "The Fair Compromise," would that be legal?

Or, imagine I wrote a proposal requiring all nations to hunt down Hayden Christensen, hogtie him, and carry him triumphantly back to UN Headquarters, where he is to be flogged repeatedly and tortured with photos of "The View's" Star Parker in the nude, until he agrees never again to act in another film -- and I titled it the Quality in Entertainment Act. Would that be legal?

Now, imagine I write a very specific medical-rights proposal like Clinical Abortion Rights, only this one covers euthanasia, and I submit it under the title Individual Self-Determination (www.nationstates.net/page=UN_proposal1/match=determination). Would that be legal?

On a side note, I was hunting for the relevant clause in the binding rules to check the exact wording of the ruling and found there wasn't a clause in the rules. I might've missed it, but if not, it might be deserving of being added as a sentence to the general format section.

I know, I was trying to find it too, while posting this, and I couldn't.

What FL said.

If the title doesn't match the content, we can (and do) kill it under the "Format" clause. It doesn't need to be any more specific than that.

So, about this -> http://www.nationstates.net/page=UN_proposal1/match=determination

Does the title match the content? I'd like my original question answered, please.

I'd like my original question answered, please.
Then perhaps next time you should include an original question that makes sense, and not four apparent hypotheticals and a thread title that gives no hint of what you are seeking.

Hirota's proposal is fine. The text matches the content. Mind you, it's not a complete description-in-a-title, but it still fits.

Was I being rude or something? What's with the attitude?

Thanks for the clarification.

You had four hypothetical questions, not one of which was "Is Hirota's proposal legal?", which I believe was your real question. Stating "I'd like my original question answered, please" was meaningless in context.

If you have an actual question, ask it. Don't make us guess.

This isn't an insult or anything, but generally you shouldn't ask "was I being rude" as if it wasn't a possibility, it just angers people.

Either say "I'm sorry if I happened to be rude," or restate your question, next time.
