Usually when something major happens in the world everyone decides to have their own thread on it. You should have seen general during the Muslim Cartoon Riot. I counted at least 5 threads, from one person.

That's nothing. The 2004 US presidential election; now there were a lot of threads.

I get a headache just thinking about the number of thread merges and other Mod interventions needed during that time period. I kinda feel sorry for the people who were actively Moderating then.
