I'm sure there are different opinions on the nature of psychological problems, but I doubt that a thread made by a kid actually looking for help and actually having been diagnosed (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=10772474&postcount=17) with a whole range of serious psychological ailments (i.e. not somebody just being overly "emo") is the right place to tell the OP that not only is he just making up his problems, but that he is also "lazy", "disgraceful, prideless, shameful", and a "fucking asshole".

Call To Power MIGHT be mollycoddling him, trying to interact with the voices, but we are NOT doing that by telling him his illness is real and treatable. It's NOT being made up as far as we can tell, and unless he says so we can only assume he's telling the truth about this one. Shut up already and leave the thread alone. All you're doing is starting a flame war. Go and make your own damned thread about how mental illness is a cop-out.:mad:

They AREN'T! That's the WHOLE POINT! You're dead wrong about mental illness here, and you should REALLY go consider the evidence FOR it, seeing as there IS no credible evidence against it except your twisted, sickening beliefs.

I just glanced over the thread. Don't have time to read every response, but I did read those of "Tangled Up In Blue". There is no question that he was flaming at the beginning, but since the warning from Tactical Grace I've only seen disagreements as to the validity of mental health treatments. Last I checked, differences of opinions weren't against the rules on this site.

I happen to think that the original poster might be overly optomistic to expect any help from an online forum devoted to satirical politics, and I also think that the disagreeing parties are mistaken if either side thinks their arguments are making any difference to whatever real or imagined ailments which might exist. Regardless, we're here to enforce site rules. I don't see any being broken.

He's flamebaiting, for one thing, and trolling. He KNOWS he's just going to be told he's wrong and start a flame war, so he comes in all arrogant and does it anyway for the attention. That's not breaking the rules? I'm sorry, but that doesn't seem right to me. Differing opinions is one thing, but the kid came looking for help, and Tangled isn't doing anything but dragging in either the chip on his shoulder or his own issues and asking to be flamed.

I *have* been following the thread. Tangled Up in Blue is stating their opinion on mental illness. That's their right. If you disagree, lay out the point logically as to why. Don't flame him back and call him names.
