Mods, I ask that you remove the proposal "Repeal: "Scientific Freedom"" from the table for the bolded clause creates a new law for the UN, which is illegal for repeals:

Repeal "Scientific Freedom"

A proposal to repeal a previously passed resolution

Category: Repeal

Resolution: #2

Proposed by: Bachostonia

Description: UN Resolution #2: Scientific Freedom (Category: Free Trade; Strength: Mild) shall be struck out and rendered null and void.

Argument: NOTING that the resolution is poorly written and that it in fact does nothing to ensure scientific freedom

POITING OUT that the resolution seems to have no purpose but to propagate the agendas of its authors

REALISING that completely unregulated scientific research can be of direct harm to the environment and that previous resolutions already have banned weapons research among other things.

REINFORCING a nation’s right to constrict research as they see fit be it for religious reasons, morality or any other reason that the government sees fit.

REPEALING the United Nations Resolution #2 declaring it null and void

EDIT: Erk, realized who you are. I thought you'd sent in a GHR already?

Care to explain what's so all-fired important about this one that says we have to address it in a timely fashion? I notice you didn't bring this one to our attention, which is much closer to timing out:
Bob
A resolution to restrict political freedoms in the interest of law and order.

Category: Political Stability
Strength: Mild
Proposed by: Yonger Minions

Description: 1. Demanding: Bob should rule all nations.
2. Reason: Bob is wise.

Status: Lacking Support (requires 121 more approvals)
When the server is slow or the tasklist is huge, removing UN proposals that aren't going to pass anyway is pretty low priority. You filed a GHR (as did someone else) and you've posted here like it's an emergency. I honestly don't understand what the issue is. It's not going to pass, and it's a subtle violation in any case. There are plenty of worse proposals up there. What's the rush?

My apologies, Fris, I was responding to Gruen with that last post (Zyzz is a puppet of mine). The reason for the urgency to remove this proposal is that Gruen and I are about to start a TG campaign in about 2 hours to repeal this very same resolution, and by being the only repeal attempt on the table, direct links to the repeal can be provided in the TGs that are sent.
