Is it ok to call someone a liar?

It probably not the nicest thing to do. And I assume if he had proof you were a liar, then it MIGHT be kinda ok...But since it was aimed at YOU, it is totally unacceptable:p

Um seriously, if it wasn't in a joking way I assume he was flaming ya.

There is no need for that tone. Although you may accuse individual of lying, please err on the side of statement of fact, rather than insult.
I don't know-not only has Eutrusca already insulted him on more than one post, but has also made wild claims about Gauthier as well as gloated about putting him on his ignore list, which last I had heard was not allowed. (which is what Guathier, it looks like, is accusing him of lying about) Considering Eutrusca's tone to him throughout I think his response is restrained.

It's not a warning, merely a comment. If it was a warning, that would have been made abundantly clear.

I recognise that Eutrusca can antagonise people, particularly those he perceives as having a 'far left / liberal agenda'. However, none of what you mention has been brought to my attention. Should there be any clear instances of rule-breaking, feel free to post links. I do not have the luxury of reading tedious 10-20+ page threads on the suspicion that someone may be being rude. ;)

Also... please link to a thread page, not a post. This allows us to quickly judge the context of a post, and saves us digging through a thread. A post in isolation simply creates more work for us.

Really? But isn't it problematic that not everyone has the same posts-per-page setting, and so linking to a page can sometimes be wildly off? It's better, surely, to post a direct link - like this: http://forums2.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?p=10617323#post10617323 - which goes directly to the post, but doesn't put it in isolation?

Yeah, that'll do nicely. Just so long as it is not a post in isolation.

Fair enough (though the gloating over the ignore list is quoted in that post). It's not really my fight and if Gauthier doesn't care I don't (even if he does, I can only manage caring a little) so I won't mine for his behavior, it just seemed to me he was matching the tone that Eutrusca set so it seemed disengenious of him to complain after setting the bar so low.

On a linked post, on the top right you have a link "Thread: ________" which links to the thread page and tags to the actual post you were viewing. That's just one more link to go from one post to seeing the post in context.
