I guess you using your ignoring tactic again is a sign that you're wrong and know it but are too red-faced to admit it.

I accept your concession, The UN Ambassadorship. It was nice humiliating you, I just wish you weren't actually a 12 year old girl, then I'd feel more accomplished about it.

Prove that the US Army Corps of Engineers is a lying liberal.

I understand that UNA is trolling, but this is a ridiculous response to it.

I don't see how it's ridiculous. He says that peak oil is a liberal lie. I challenge him to show how the US Army Corps of Engineers is thus a liberal liar, since they propogate the peak oil research.

What is it, the font? It was the only size font that he wouldn't ignore.

Personally, I don't see anything wrong with #2?

But I'm not a mod, so don't listen to me.

You posted like ten posts in the thread that were size 24 font. That's simply ridiculous. I realize he's upsetting you, but it's not an appropriate response, in my opinion.

Just ignore him. If he carries on trolling, his days are numbered. There is no need to sink to his level and share the consequences.

It may well be worthy of ridicule, but I'm not aware of there being any font-size regulation rules on the forum.

Are there?

none of my business...but.... I don't ever recall reading such a rule about font. However, it is rather rude and an inconvience to other forum users to have to scroll past font size 24. Its annoying. Sure you wish to make a point, but there are better way to do it. if you really want that person to know what you are saying, send them a telegram or some crap like that. But what you did seems like a matter of showing off, being prideful in a way, the whole "LOOK AT ME" idea..

But thats just my opinoin

One, I think it was pretty clearly a type of spamming, but that doesn't matter. The mods have been consistent in there explanation that not everything that's disallowed on the site is explicitly spelled out in the rules. Why? Because something posted once in 24-pt font might not really be a problem, but 15 messages that are essentially the same and have that font-size, well... not really the same thing, now is it?

A mod said to me once in a TG that a generally summary of rules is "Play Nice!". UNA is going to get his because, let's face it, he's not. In this case, neither were you. It's not "be nice", but "play nice". I take that to mean if you could imagine them having to make a rule about it because you exploited the fact that they hadn't made a rule about it yet, then you probably shouldn't do it.

I've been on the forums with you for a long time, SB. We both know that you didn't for a minute operate under the delusion that what you were doing was playing nice. Imagine if every poster that felt they were being ignored simply upped their font to 24-point font. That'd be a great forum to operate on, huh?

I didn't know that anyone really had a problem with it until you. How much of a problem was it exactly? Hell for me, its a refreshing change since it's so much easier to read.

I can imagine the government making a rule against smoking tobacco, but me smoking tobacco is not exploitation of their not having yet made that rule. Nor should I stop simply because the government might make that rule. I'll try to play by the rules, but I'm not going to try to second-guess future rules.

I've been on the forums with you for a long time, SB. We both know that you didn't for a minute operate under the delusion that what you were doing was playing nice.

I don't know, I wasn't exactly advocating child torture was I? I still think you're overreacting a bit by saying both of us were not playing nice, as if we did the same thing. I didn't troll and I didn't advocate behaviors that are banned by the Geneva convention. I used a large font size.

Imagine if every poster that felt they were being ignored simply upped their font to 24-point font. That'd be a great forum to operate on, huh?

Then that might be a problem. But not everyone is doing that, just me, in just one thread (which is now closed I think). I don't think the slippery slope here works when there's really no precedent for people changing font sizes just because SB does.

Anyway, I've had my say.

(Incidentally, I couldn't get a TG because my NS is gone. So if the mods were to send me a play-nice message they'd have to use my other NSs or email or something.)

IIRC there is a precedent for posting in large font sizes. Some guy called Chewbaccula or something got banned a fair while ago. Well that's what I remember, I could be mistaken.

A line of text in one post in massive font is fine

But an entire post like that.....just painful

15 posts like that.....

I'm still waiting fro a mod's opinion on this. I think that it's fairly clear why one might think such things are inappropriate.

That was about the issue of the person who was upsetting SB. I think that was advice for SB.

Well, the "sinking to their level" comment might be interpreted as your answer, but it's probably fair to get an explicit decision.
