The Milk and Honey Flowing Land of Geberia
Received: 1 day ago

Greetings! I am Geberia, a representive of 0000000000 Christian Teens. I would like to share with you the Good News. The Bible says in John 3:16," For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Jesus loves you and he wants to be your Saviour. Please accept him into your heart today.
If you have any questions about being saved, please telegram me. If you wish to be left alone, I am fine with doing that. I just wanted you to know about the one true God and the Good News. Please understand this is NOT an advertisement for our reigon. Thanks and God bless,
Geberia,
0000000000 Christian Teens

I know that this will be recieved as nothing more than a NS player going on some kind of anti-religious rant. But the truth is, I personally take offence to this type of material being sent to me. If his person wants to publicly state his/her beliefs then they can do in the fourms where I can simply ignore it. However, I draw the line when they start sending it to me personally, and I consider it harassment. If I wanted to follow their belief then I would join their religion, but I don't.

This content should stay on the fourms where it belong, not pushed into my face where I cannot escape it. i come here to play a game, not to be converted. NS is not some place for religion to be pushed on other.

Although I am not a Moderator, I would say that this could be seen as excusable since there is nothing explicitly talking about this in the rules. I would give them a telegram back saying that you do not wish to recieve any more telegrams from them and if you recieve more at that point, report it. Also, this would be done through "Getting Help" and not the Moderation forum.

If you want to be left alone, tell him that. That IS an option...

The telegram brushes the edge of being a regional adspam, but stays just this side of the line. In a sense, any unsolicited telegram is spam, as you never know what the recipient might be interested in until you ask. However, if we enforced that standard as against the rules, we'd effectively kill all communication within the game for anyone who isn't already RL friends.

If we got rid of everything on these forums that annoyed or offended someone, there would be nothing left. Whether you're offended or annoyed by fluffles, or by serious political discussion, or by RPers who beleive they *are* Sith Lords, or by religious propoganda ... well, basically there's something for everyone.

My advice (not ruling) is that you reply politely that you're not interested in such materials, perhaps with a link to this thread, and then block the sender. If you do link to this thread, I'd like to point out to the sender that this is a political simulation game, not the Church of the Internet, and perhaps his/her efforts would be better spent preaching in a non-fantasy environment. Strikes me as kind of pointless too.

I've already taken that course of action. Personally I could careless to any reglious debate that occurs on the fourms, I can ignore that mess, but as I said, I don't like to find it in mail box though.
