possible rules violation- in general section

Below is a post from the general section. I have read the rules etc and think I am correct in asking that this thread be closed as it attacks one group. As a gay woman, I am offended by it, but at the same time if it is not seen by the mods as a violation, I will live with it. I would like to draw your attention to it at the very least.

Here is the post:
Thoughts from the homosexual/bisexual community

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Following up the recent thread on the ban on beastiality in Washington, a thought struck me. It seems hypocritical to me that many people who vehemently defend the right to have homosexual sex typically have little to say about sex between species. Having said that, I am not a homosexual nor do I practice or wish to practice beastiality. I would just like to know how those who defend homosexual intercourse feel on this subject.

It would help the Moderators if you posted a link to the thread/post in quesiton.

p.s., that thred doesn't look like it is breaking any rules. So i don't know what your problem is with it.

Dsboy, we don't censor unpopular, stupid, or racist discussions unless or until they break other forum rules. This is a political simulation game, and all views may be debated, not just the politically correct version. This point was made recently about racist posts, and I can't say it better.Max is well aware of Stormfront and is well aware that their members occationally come to our site.

He's also aware that supression and censorship of ideas is not the way to deal with people like neo-Nazis. Driving them underground simply causes them to use sites like Stormfront as echo chambers with everyone agreeing with everyone else.

By allowing people with... unpleasant... worldviews to post on our forums, he also allows them to have those worldviews directly challanged, debated, and shown to be tattered dellusions.

We have never banned neo-Nazis just because of their political or social beliefs. If they play by the rules, they can believe whatever the hell they want. They can even discuss it on our forums. Granted it's harder to debate a hateful ideology without breaking the rules, but it has been done before. Paratoga comes to mind, for instance.

Seems to me the other posters have set the original poster to rights, even though he may absolutely refuse to admit that he's been proven wrong. We don't promise that you'll change anyone's mind, but you're welcome to use our soapbox to try.

I'd like to point out that this poster did appear to actually be interested in an explanation. I've never seen anyone post that kind of an opinion and accept and explanation so readily but the OP did it just 10 posts in, in response to the very second post.

I have to say that I made a pretty stupid thread. I, for some reason or other, was not thinking clearly at all at the time, and I would like to apologize to anyone offended.
