These are basically duplicate threads that just point out suicide bombings or whatever, with the whole point of showing how Islam is not a religion of peace (and how, in fact, all Muslims are violent terrorists).

Are these trolling, or what else would you call it when people spend a lot of time trying to stereotype an entire religion based on every single crime committed by anyone who is even POTENTIALLY a member of that religion? Flamebaiting? Or just gross ignorance and hatred of Muslims that we should tolerate?

I don't think they're any worse than the usual threads criticizing the US (or any better, for that matter).

But it's not like criticizing the US. The US isn't a religion, it's a nation-state. Criticizing a nation's policy, or even it's people, isn't on the same level as discriminating against an entire religion.

Nn, no and no. Islam is a religious unit, the US is a national unit, Judaisim is both an ethnic and a religious unit. But criticism of any one particular unit of any type is not really any different from criticism of any other unit of any other (or the same) type. Granted, most threads of this type (regardless of the unit being criticised) are uneducated, offensive, etc, but they aren't any different from any other, from an objective standpoint.

In and of itself, I'm pretty sure you can have a discussion like that. The mods don't censor any beliefs and don't care what your opinion is as long as you present it in the right way. However, those threads are probably either trolling or spam. I mean, he didn't ask a question, he didn't add any commentary... He hasn't even added to the debate at all! Maybe it's copy & paste spam? :/

Correct. To us, the phrases "I don't like you because you are a X" are identical no matter what X may be ("white person," "American," "Muslim," etc.). People can be as backwards in their mindset as they like here as long as they're willing to play nice with others. The only time we play Thought Police is when calls to violence or illegal action come about.

Still, this case is c/p spam just like The Red Arrow.

And the fun just keeps on coming, this time with flamebaiting.
