After seeing a few nasty threads of flaming, I felt it necessary to create a list for both new and older players to be able to easily find RPers to RP against, or even learn things from.

I'm hoping that this could be a sticky so that way newbies can see it when they jump in. I understand if you say no (being a forum owner myself, I know what happens when there are too many), but I'm hoping that this could cut down on newbies getting blasted out of the water, and old members being banned for doing so.

As I mentioned on your visit to #themodcave, the problem with n00b warriors is not a lack of information, but rather the surplus of it. They're already ignoring the stickies, so why would they click another one?

Nonetheless, I told you to post here, so let's see if anyone else has other valid pros and cons besides mine.

However, the newbies that don't read them even with flashing lights attached to the stickies really shouldn't post in II. I'm hoping to also help other newbies (by also providing a list of people willing to teach), and also help veterans to find people to RP with, like for example, there's interest for PT, but no one know's who is interested or not. And in two days of having the thread up, there's already eight (!) people under PT. I think of it as a helpful guide for pretty much everybody. And perhaps even convert otherwise unworkable newbies. :cool:

But like you said, let's see the other moderators' thoughts and ideas.

What about the n00bs who want to become better RPers?

Those aren't n00bs (http://ns.goobergunch.net/wiki/index.php/N00b) as a rule. They're newbs (http://ns.goobergunch.net/wiki/index.php/Newb). We're not worried about them finding their feet.

Anyone capable of reading, and patient enough to spend an hour doing so before posting, can be accepted fairly quickly by the RP community. It's the smilie-spewing, "I declair WAR on u all" crowd that needs it most and reads it least. I just don't see another sticky having any significant effect on those players.

Why don't you join forces with the reborn region of Role Play University, and see where that takes you? They've been doing this for a loooong time.

Mind you, I believe in realism, and I also like fair play. That's probably why I turned out okay and didn't get blasted.

As for the RPU, perhaps I can take a crack at that. Maybe instead of sticking my thread, post a link to their site if you haven't already? :)
