Well, can they?

I'll save you a little time and tell you that the mods are unlikely to restore Novacom's posts for you.

If Novacom comes around, then I would rather have the posts restored then just posted somewhere in order to maintain the story...
I would rather have them restored.

If a poster deleted their own posts, we're going to assume s/he had a reason to do so.

And if the poster changes his/her mind?

We'll worry about that should it come to pass.
Would it be possible if I had changed my mind then?

We have the ability, yes. The inclination and desire, on the other hand, may be lacking.

Normally, I stay out of OOC disputes, (in fact, I'm almost afraid to read OOC threads in some cases, where I think someone's going to accuse me of g****ding, etc. and drag me into an OOC conflict) but from what I could pick up, from being involved in the RP in question, these posts were DEATed as a result of an OOC dispute, and I, for one, would like to see the story continue normally, unaffected by OOC conflicts.
This is basically a case of the opposite of an RP thread being spammed with OOC, it's having IC taken out. I don't think the result is any less disruptive if the posts are left out as opposed to pumping 20 posts of OOC into it. I'd rather see them restored myself.

Then ask the poster. Don't pester moderation. The fact you folks were unable to keep the thread going on all counts is not their problem after all. It really isn't your place to ask for someone elses posts to be reinstated anyways, especially if it is them who deleted them to begin with. It's poor ettiquite yes, but it is their choice. And I would imagine, if that's the way they handle disputes, will affect their choice in rp partners in the future. Actions, consequences ... yeah. Suggest you do what you can with it, and move on as best you can. Better that than to let someone elses poor behaviour ruin something for you entirely.
