thread cap?

This (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=410573) thread on General rulings indicates that "1) General Forum threads will have a 65 page cap (1300 posts), at which point, they will be deleted if they are mostly spam (quote pyramids, word games, flaming, etc), or locked if they are mostly legit conversation (chatting/debating/etc). This is to prevent supermassive threads that clog the forum and only worsen the 'invalid session' problem."

Yet this (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=462248) thread is well over 2,000 posts by now.

Is the ruling outdated, or is the Paradise Beach stuff somehow exceptionally important?

The original reasons for the cap were legit, but no longer apply. We've semi-decided to semi-ignore that semi-rule, but we haven't gotten around to making it semi-offiical by removing it from the ruleset.

Semi-officially,
