Is there a Mod Rule on the content of a regions World Factbook Entry when it mentions (not in a good light) another region?
as the thread title only asked for rules on WFEs without specifying, i'll jump at the opportunity to not create an owm thread and still ask without being off-topic..
if a region's WFE specifically instructs potential UN proposal draft lobbyists to not TG those to the UN delegate, but rather post them on an offsite forum, and the proposal authors disregard that and still lobby the delegate via TG - can or will that be considered spam? as in, would that constitute an in-game offense if it became too much and were reported?

If it's
* obscene
* illegal
* threatening
* malicious
* defamatory
* spam
Then it's actionable. File a Getting Help request with your reasons, and we'll make a judgement.

Yes. File a GHR, and don't delete the telegram. Chances are, unless they're repeat offenders,all they'll get is a 'knock it off' and a link to the One Stop Rules Shop. If you think it was done in ignorance rather than malicious ignoring of the rules, feel free to reply with, "Please don't send UN telegrams to delegates that have opted out, per site rules here: http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=416023, post # <whatever the post # is>. Thanks."We're totally fine with people being politely pointed to the rules thread. If they respond negatively, report as above.
thanks, frisbeeteria.
i assume that most of them are done out of ignorance, and actually the purpose of my earlier post was to make sure that i can reply with what you suggested without violating rules myself by "using mods as a weapon" or anything the like.

I suppose it comes under the Defamatory section.
We totally condemn dictatorships across NS, especially in XXXXX, and vow to oppose them. The XXXXX is my region, and I would just like them to remove the name. I just want to be sure of my position before approaching them
Thanks for your replies.

In all reality though, by making a World Factbook, you are in essence roleplaying, and therefore you open yourself up to other roleplayers. If the role that they play is one against your nation, you cannot take it personally and call it defamatory.
My nation hates communism. If I say that in a roleplaying sense, citing examples of well-known communist nations around NationStates, am I to be cited for it.
While I don't have time to look for it if it even still exists, I believe there is a precident set for this type of situation, distinguishing the nation itself from the person who runs it, and saying that it falls under RP.

It would depend on whether the intent was to defame a RP entity or a specific player. If the dictatorship in question is a region that prides itself in its dictator-ness, it's allowed. If it's "JoesNation and his puppets JoeJr and JoeIII", it's malicious.
That's why we call 'em "judgement calls".

My region has a parliament political parties and a ceremonial role. The new region is by a lot of players that left my region after a row with one Admin. Parliament is still going but because of the numbers left it is not very active. It is my intention to rebuild in the new year. The region is committed to Democracy and is not the plaything of one person.
I will, based on the answers above, request that they remove mention of my region and based on their response and your response decide what if any action to take.
Again thanks for your time.
