Is there an established set of rules the moderators reference as reasons for closing threads in the forum?

Specifically, what was the reason for closing this thread?

I can't speak for the mods, but if that were my thread, I would bet that it's because it's sarcastic and possibly offensive to religious types. I might be wrong, and I know for a fact that you will disagree even if I'm right, but that's my two cents.

Heh, I don't disagree with your characterization of the thread, so you are wrong in your estimation of my reaction :p. I am just honestly curious if that was really why the thread was closed and what standards are applied in general.

Why are threads closed..? Because they suck!


Truthfully, probably that one because either it was turning into a flame fest, or would have. That or it's already been discussed or something like that.


Edit: It also could have been closed by request of the author
