My nation is gonna be ejected from the UN...I'm guessing this is because all the nations in my region seem to connect from the same IP address most of the time. But that's because the region is for people at my university, and the university's network is connected via a single Internet connection so it appears to all come from one computer when it actually isn't. I really like this game, and don't want to be ejected from the UN...please help :headbang:

We don't depend on just IP addresses. Read the whole thread.

Somehow......I have a hard time believing that a WHOLE University is connected via a single 'net connection

Well, here's a newflash for you. The earth IS round, George Bush WAS elected President in '04, and lots of universities (and corporations, and organizations) actually route all their traffic through a single gateway, portal, or proxy. It's remarkably common, in fact. It may be a wide pipe, but it's still showing up as a single connection.

As we've stated multiple times, a shared IP is but one of the many tools we use to determine multis. For the very reasons described above, it's rarely the deciding factor.

Actually, several whole universities - including Cambridge - use JAnet (the Joint Academic Network) and hence share IP addresses.
