Title Trouble

Is "Pissing into the wind" an acceptable title? I was always under the assumption that such words were not allowed in the title of threads, even under the old, more relaxed rules, because they showed up on the main site.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not offended or anything, but I'm just checking to make sure, especially since "piss," like "hell" is one of those words that some people consider swear words while others don't, as opposed to say "fuck" which everyone at least considers vulgar.

Given it's a turn of phrase, and no one has seemed to have any problem with it, or made a complaint about it, I'd hazard a guess that this is another of those 'case by case' situations.

Out of curiousity, if you're not offended, and no one else has been during the entire duration it's been up - and it has been a fairly visible thread - what's the problem?

I'm just asking a question, Nathi, to better understand the rules. What is and what isn't acceptable. Perhaps I wish to make a title with a questionable word in it. Before I have an entire thread deleted for one mishap, I'd like to be informed.

Don't think this is any sort of attack of the trium or anyone else who is RPing in that thread.

You're reading too much into my response, Steel. Think maybe you need to settle down and stop getting your back up over everything.

If you have a question as to wording of your own intended thread, ask about your own intended thread. I'd think that's pretty obvious as the most logical solution. Nevermind how simple it is to pop onto IRC and just ask one of the mods there if you really need to know if 'a word' will get you into trouble - ore perhaps more importantly, how a word is used in a title.

Asking vague questions about 'types of things that may or may not be acceptable' will likely end up getting you in trouble - we've seen that happen ample times on the boards, and in this forum. You want specifics? Ask about specifics. None of this other makes sense, especially if you don't have anything against anyone - something that only you have brought up here, which is kinda interesting.

EDIT: About as interesting as your sig, which seems to be a bit 'baity' in and of itself, given your recent history of troubles. A bit of advice would be 'if you don't want to be treated like a child, don't act like one'. This would be in reference to the 'but mommy, he did $thing!' attitude I'm starting to see crop up, and the angles you appear to be taking with some things. Might be time to take a deep breath and re-evaluate where you're coming from on some of these recent probings, and your reasons for them.

NOES HE USED TEH WORD PISS.

Seriously, though, should moderation not used to actually report serious problems? If I had to scan my RP threads for the words "piss" "hell" and "fuck there would be hell to pay.

Just a point - there are different rules for posts and titles as titles appear on the game page when you interact with your nation. The rules for titles are to keep things clean enough for the game to be used in school classrooms even if the forums themselves are considered to racy.

Yes, because the expression "pissing into the wind" is quite naturally too racy. And I've certainly never heard it in school classrooms. Really. The person complaining doesn't even find it offensive!
