I believe that this (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=455299) thread should be closed. The grounds for my belief is that there is no purpose served by the topic itself. Just reading the last handful of pages shows that there is no difference between it and a "Christianity is great" topic. Defenders of rape victims will make no concessions of meaning to anyone trying to make an argument, not for rape, but for responsibility in cases where rape can be committed. Likewise, the other side makes no concessions or has made every possible concession to try and get the point across. There is nothing to debate in the thread any longer nor has there been for some time.

This is a lively debate thread. It happens to be that there are two intrasigent sides. That is what makes it a debate. (Although some opinions have been changed in the course of the thread.)

No offense to the_pantless_one but he/she is merely frustrated because his particular arguments led to an impasse. That does not mean other discussion cannot continue.
