some of the poll options look sorta threatening to me, it could be harmless (maybe I am offended being a Christian and all) I don't really have a problem with the topic of the thred though.......

anyway I trust your judgement on the issue, sorry to bother.;)

next time I'll be a little more centrist in my views and remember that as I refute the existance of all gods, I am guilty of spreading religious hatred merely by existing. maybe I will just stick to social economic commentary and leave religion out of it as it is such a sore point.. possibly just subsisting in mere beer and skittles waffle instead.

no need to back off from what you believe, just maybe don't advocate killing people;)

no prob smunkee. not that I ever would back off, I was just taking the current theme of religious ecstacy and extremeism and applying it to my own atheistic question, Maybe I should remember that some people out there can appreciate subtlety and tone it dwn next time. :)

Smunk enjoys subtlety. If you'd employed a little your thread would be still be open, and likely thriving. Nothing particularly subtle about "Or shall we rise up and send them to Paradise, Heaven Asgarth Valalla Hell Hades Orm etc. to let them start teir Eternal life and stop annoying the crap out of us that wish to enjoy our phisical existance before we wink out of conciousness."

If only every poster would take these things as a lesson the forums would be that much better. I'll tell you one good thing came out of this. I met you. If you actually gained as much from a locked thread as you seem to be taking away, you have gained my respect (if that matters one iota).

why thankyou, as I was told from an early age "Respect is everything"...
Hang on a mo'. that was subliminal advertising from rockstar games... Arrrrrrgh

If you can't learn by your own mistakes learn by others, and if you are too pig headed (as we can all be sometimes) to learn from others then go ahead but allow for a nice loud round of disdain when you also fall foul.

anytime you need the opinion of an extreme atheist/theophobe you know were to call (although it is not fear just a moderate complete and utter disgust ) http://www.dvdlardforums.com/images/smilies/hammer.gif

Well, for the record, don't paint all Christians with one brush. We are as varied as you atheists are. Many of us are educated and scientific. We've just found reason to something as truth that you cannot (yet?) justify. Most of us respect your position and that you simply can't hold ours.

I have been tolerant for over 25 years (I was 8 when I got thrown out of school for saying I don't believe in God, "A Disruptive influence") the main reason for my thread is that I got cautioned because of a discussion with a friend which when overheard by a third party in a pub called the police for my expressed political views and my religious viewpoint, the police on questioning had a lot of fun as I was nonchristian they had to do the touchy feely PC stuff, they had a bit of difficulty with atheist so they put me down as church of England.

I have no problem with faith, I just foolishly put my faith in fellow humans
