It should be pretty obvious that the the thread and poster of it are very much anti-french, and that its not really a thread for discussion, as much as trying to call the french surrendur...ers. Shown by the fact that the poll is a complete crock.

I love this bit...

"Surrender" being defined as giving concessions to the rioters such as, "positive discrimination"

*rolls eyes*
Brilliant, just brilliant. The only non-surrender option is to keep doing exactly what they've been doing, without any attempt to solve the core problems?

What a stupid definition. But...we just give more legitimacy to the poster when we respond in this way, and as such I have no comments beyond his very off-kilter way of expressing himself in a way that will let him claim "surrender" from any reasonable government actions after-the-fact.

I am not looking to start something.

But in a thread like this where someone said a member was being anti-American, nothing happened. A moderator, not sure who, said that being anti-American wasn't a punishable offense.

What's up with that?

Again, i'm not very active on NS General, I don't know the in's and outs of the whole European posters vs. US posters thing, but this does look a little odd.

Oh, and I'm not looking to fight a moderator, either; just asking a question. :p

It's not because of it being anti-French, it's that the heavily biased poll is considered trolling.

Oh.

IE, pointless post/spam?

Got it.

It's one thing to be Anti-American and oppose their policies through debate, but it's another thing to completely insult a nation as the person did in this thread about France with no valid debating points. It was pointless.

I understand.

Just from how the post of this thread was stated, it sounded like the guy was only upset because it was anti-French.

No problems.

So the idiots behind this don't get a locked thread, whereas I did for rather less reason?

Quit hi-jacking other peoples threads. NOW.

Answer my questions in the relevant thread then. And I am honestly curious why Frog dissing is less offensive than criticism of Bush.

You're pushing it Cahnt. Neither is 'less-offensive', as both have been locked. They're treated as equally offensive. Now quit hi-jacking or else further action will be taken.
