I have been getting stalked by a nation, who goes around telling people that i am sent from Satan, that i am evil, that i am leading them down a path to Hell.

I made a region designed to foster open discussion on religion. The nations there are all there by invitation and have agreed to discuss our similarities and differences to come to better understanding of each other.

Now he has gone so far as to accuse my parents of child abuse because of the philosophy i hold. (my parents happen to be christians, but i am not).

The region where he posts this slander is password-protected so that i am unable to defend myself and my parents.

I have submitted a Getting Help request, but i am wondering what the rules are for slander of this kind.

Some examples of what he is saying:

"King Soloman wrote what is about these "men" philosphers. "All is vanity." Thats what it is all about. To think you are the center when God is the life force of all creation. That is The Pride of Life. The very iniquity that was found in Lucifer; the very covering(churub) of the throne of God. He thought to himself; "I will be like the most high." This is the sin of all sins. The pride of life. It is the very thought and premise of all religions except Christianity. " I can achieve "diety" through my own being.
... This Pride of Life is the very trap that (he names my nation) is cuaght in. And many Billions of others. "Narrow is the gate and small is the path." Jesus said. People like (he names me again) may label this as "narrow minded"; but to us that are saved; it is the GraCE of God. We understand, they do not. The Bible speakes of the grand deception from Satan. I believe this is it. "

(he has taken my quotes out of context. I have never said that one can become a diety)

And this against my parents:
"The Generation of these poeples parents have failed miserably. Its child abuse years later that can produce a way of thinking as this."

Then i am getting telegrams like these:
"I have read your message board tonight. You are one evil woman. You name your region (X)? You have not the slightest idea of that concept and all your soothsaying is streight from the pit of Hell..as where you will soon find yourself. You are the proverbial Wolf in Sheeps clothing.
You are a liar because your father is the father of all lies. Leave Christians alone or you are going to rue the day you ever started playing this game. I promise. "

I do not have nations in any of his regions, i do not visit his forums. I left his region voluntarily because of the abuse i was getting, and have since left him alone except to try to ask him to stop badmouthing me. He is going out of his way to defame me. I am quite upset by this, especially since he has blocked my ability to defend myself in the places he is posting these defamatory remarks.

I have gone out of my way NOT to provoke him. The only thing i believe that i have said to him that might be construed as antagonistic is telling him he isn't being a very good example of a Christian, but even that doesn't seem to deter him.

Several of the nations in his regions have moved nations into the region stating they WANT to discuss things with me, and they have all been very open minded and kind. So the problem is just with this one player.

Where is the line between acceptable opinion-stating, and outright slander?

If you ask me, I'd have to say that this is classic flamming. In my opinion, he's broken about a million different anti-flame rules. There's a line between stating an opinion and flamming (slander), and that's drawn when someone goes on the offensive, as he has. My advice to you: ignore him until the mods respond to your Getting Help Request. They'll get to it eventually.

By the way, I'm sorry you have to put up with stuff like this. No one should have to put up with this stuff for any reason.

If this is happening in telegrams, save the TG and file a GH request.

If this is happening in telegrams, save the TG and file a GH request.

If this is happening on the forums, provide a link.

I sent in the regional message board with my GH request, and the mods have responded, saying he has been told to knock it off.

Apparently, at the same time, he was found to be in violation of UN rules and was ejected from the UN.

I will now send in a GH request with a link to the telegram that threatens me.

If this isn't enough to get him DoS'ed, then i don't know what is.

Your response really wasn't needed. If you can't provide anything helpful, don't post at all, especially when you don't even know the situation at hand. Leave it to the people who are going to deal with it, the moderators.

Apparently you don't know what is, then.

We give nations with minor warnings (as opposed to instant-deletion offenses like obscene flags and nation names) the chance to learn from their mistakes. If a player continues to abuse the rules after being warned, we delete his nation. If he uses puppets to evade punishment, we delete the puppets AND the main nation as an object lesson. We do not declare a player Delete-on-Sight until they have proven that they are unwilling to abide by the rules of the site on multiple occasions, with multiple nations.

Mods are not in the punishment business. Our job is to steer the site back in the direction of fair and safe play. Our tools include the telegram, the UN ejection, and the Delete button. We always try to use the correct tool for the job, and in this case it's the telegram.

not sure if this is related or not, but even after being stripped of his UN status two hours ago, he was able to change the regional password a half hour ago.

He is not the founder (founder is ceased) and he cannot be Delegate if he is not in the UN.

Is it some sort of update delay, or is he hacking into the regional controls?

He'll still have delegate controls until the next major update, unless a mod takes away the delegate tag..

The abuse has stopped for the moment, and i breathe a sigh of relief.

You guys do a great job. Baskets of exotic flowers and tropical fruit will be delivered to each of your nations by lithe, tanned, half-naked natives as a token of our appreciation.
