Anyone wanna show off their avatar?

I made a wiki article here (http://ns.goobergunch.net/wiki/index.php/Avatar): I thought that acquisition of avatars was a moment of note in the history of NS. I linked to Fris's and Sal's, as they're already on the Wiki, but not the others (although I realize I can do to sirocco's), as I don't know about Fair Use. If you want to add yours, though, it might make the article prettier.

Let's see here...
# GMC Military Arms - a cat in military attire, holding a weapon;
This is actually Aeris from the online comic VGCats.
# Scolopendra - first went with a sniper cat, but then changed to a feline beast stepping into the cockpit of a plane;
That be a Kzin, created by Larry Niven.
# Tsaraine - a nut wearing glasses;
This is a ritual mask that has been photoshopped. Those aren't glasses, one eye has Gynamede, the other a cog from a clock.
My Wiki scripting skillz are pretty weak, but if you want to go ahead and add mine in, you've got my permission.

The first one of mine was a preview of Aeris for Advent Children. They never showed her face in the trailers or pics, before the movie came out. The one I have right now is the Scarlet Witch.

My avatar; it is in fact a Carthaginian funerary mask with a picture of a mudflat superimposed over it (and a picture of a leaf symbol I made in Mechanisto 2.0 on the forehead). As Hack says, one eye is Ganymede, a moon of Jupiter, and the other is a cog.
Since you're the second person to call it a "nut wearing glasses", and someone else called it an "evil potato" or something, I'm considering changing it ... if only I can find something decent to change it to!
Hack likes it because it reminds him of Hunter S. Thompson, author of Fear And Loathing in Las Vegas. "We can't stop here, this is bat country!"

Isn't Kat's avatar Cardcaptor Sakura?

I'm wondering why you keep changing yours, Euro. Are you not happy with them or what?

No, don't change it. I totally saw what it was (ok, I didn't get Ganymede, but I got the rest). I think it's even better that not everyone gets it. Imagine the artist - who wants to create art that everyone gets. Many of us appreciate the originality of your avatar. I see ride it till the wheels fall off.

WELL(huffily), I see it's not spam when Gruenberg creates a thread on avatars ...:)
No, joke, I can actually see the difference between my spectacularly ill-timed "beauty contest" and G's legit query to clarify matters for that rock of our NS being, the NSWiki.
But it does give me the excuse of ensuring historical accuracy to ask: why did Fris change his avatar from those ominous, moving, all-seeing eyes? They were much more mod-awe-inspiring than any common-or-garden spacecraft.

My avatar is one of the oldest drawings of my namesake character Firefury Amahira, done by an artist going at the time by LaDy WoLfEtTe (yes, with the wonky caps). I'll probably switch to a pic of the ninja mod once my computer is back up and running and I can get at that character model =p
Now what my avatar symbolizes is man's decent into nothingness. If you look into the eyes of my avatar you can actually see how empty the soul of the character is and how his search for truth has revealed only more questions.
Or maybe it just means I'm not a mod.

OMG! Reploid! *bows repeatedly, chanting ancient things of praise and worship*
Anywho, have to pay jolt to get avatars? Wtf? I had always wondered why the rest of us never had them, but origionally that was because the server hosting the old forums wouldn't take the extra bandwidth or whatever for images and the like, or something of the other.
I had always wondered about the Mod's avatars, nice to see some explained, if not all currently. I already knew about sulsa's from his site, so thats a given.
Anyway....I don't know what else to say....
EDIT:
Oh yea, I know this one is off-topic, but I remember back in the day when we got our own custom titles through lottery or whatever...
*sigh*
I wonder what happened to that..

Probably because jolt doesn't want to pay for several hundred thousand accounts, all using avatars.
Even at 25kb per Av and only 100,000 users, you're looking at roughly 2.5 Gb of little pictures. That are pasted to every single post you make. And loaded by every single person who reads every post you, or anyone else, makes.
See how this would quickly become insanely expensive?
If the average poster has 1000 posts and an average of 100 people view each of those posts...
